CHORUS AT LIBERTY: If you are an 8th grader who is interested in singing in Liberty High School’s chorus next year as a freshman, please email Mrs. Parker now at dparker@basdschools.org – your name will be added to a list to be given to the chorus director at Liberty. Remember, singing at the high school means that you will be receiving a letter grade. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Parker during your 8th grade lunch time, around 11:45, this week. ENCORE CLASSES: A reminder to all students – the last day of the 3rd rotation for your Encore classes is Monday, January 24th. Be sure to either speak with your teacher or check Schoology to see what assignments you may owe. Be proactive about your work and responsibilities. See your teacher if you have any questions at all.
FANS AT GAMES: We love to have fans at our basketball games cheering on our teams! Students, please remember these simple rules:
- Masks must be worn at all times, and they must cover your mouth and nose!
- You must remain in the gym and sit on the bleachers. You may not wander through the halls or go in and out of the gym or building.
- Please have what you need to go home with you at the games. Go to your locker at the end of the school day, not after the games. When you leave the gym to go home, you must leave the building.
- When attending the games please remember that the Code of Conduct rules apply, just like when you are in school.
WINTER COATS: BRRRRRRRRR – Students- Need of a new winter coat? Teachers, know a student that might be chilly? Stop by A312 and see Mrs. Derrington!
ACTIVITIES
- AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: Thursday, January 20th will be an after school vocal groups rehearsal from 3:15-4:30pm, held in the chorus room.
- BAND & ORCHESTRA: Attention all musician students, please remember at the end of the day to pick your instrument up from the band room to take home and practice.
- HOMEWORK CLUBS: If you are in 7th or 8th grade and need help with your assignments, join Homework Clubs on Tuesdays and Thursdays! 8th grade meets in Mrs. Papagni’s room in B305 and 7th graders meet in Ms. Rinaldi’s room A112. You get a snack and milk, too!
- SISTER ACT, JR: Thank you to all who were at Saturday’s Sister Act Jr. rehearsal – we have Act I blocked! Please continue to review the script when we are not rehearsing together. Special thanks to our stage crew for coming in as well. Thank you to our parent volunteers as well. You make us all NORTHEAST PROUD!; Tuesday, January 18th’s rehearsal is for all cast members in the chorus room from 3:15-4:30pm. Please have your scripts! Wednesday, January 19th’s rehearsal of Scene 10, pages 78-85, is for the following people: Mother Superior, Monsignor O’ Hara, Deloris, Eddie, Mary Patrick, Mary Robert, Mary Lazarus, Mary Martin of-Tours, Mary Celeste, Mary Irene, Mary Stephen, Mary Theresa, Nuns 1- 3, Nun Group A, Tina, Nina, Michelle, Elle, and Newscaster. This rehearsal will take place in the auditorium from 3:15-5:00pm. Please have your script!; Saturday, January 22nd’s rehearsal for Sister Act Jr. will be as follows: 9:00-10:00am – Scene 11, pages 86- 90: TJ, Curtis, Pablo, Curtis’ Boys 10:00-12pm – ALL CAST; Thank YOU for your Northeast time and talent! - YANA CLUB: YANA (You Are Not Alone) Club is cancelled for Thursday, January 13th. The club will resume on Thursday, January 20th.
- ZOMBIE CLUB: Zombie Club members, in order to participate in the pizza party in the end, please hand in your $3 to either Mrs. Papagni, Miss Rinaldi, or Mr. Spieker anytime. In addition, your Research Disease must be completed too.
