Home / Daily Announcements / Sunday Shout-Out for the Week of October 13, 2019

Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for this week where we in Bethlehem celebrate American Education. The national vision for the week continues to be “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility.”  We sent home flyers with our school’s visitation schedule earlier this past week. A copy of the schedule can be found on our Northeast website. Also, we advise that you check with your child in case there are any tests or special programs and trips scheduled for when you plan to visit.  We do ask that you not plan to visit over our lunch periods, because we are not able to fit parents and students together in our cafeteria. Also, just a reminder that all Bethlehem Area School District schools and offices are closed tomorrow, October 14th, in observance of Columbus Day. All teachers and office staff will be involved in professional development during this day.

During this coming week we will also host our Northeast Parent Teacher Organization on Wednesday.  Our parent association meets at 6:00 p.m. in our school’s LIBRARY. This meeting will be a special training for parents in the use of Schoology which will help you stay on top of your children’s school work. With today’s technology and the way we are instructing our students, it is important to use all the available technology we have at our fingertips to provide the best for your children. Our NEPTO meeting is immediately followed by our Band Parent meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the band room.

Please note that this past week we sent home a “Box Tops” notification memorandum with all students. This is a fundraiser that benefits our Student Leadership Council and does not cost anything but the time it takes to collect participating box tops from their cartons. There is even a new Box Tops app for your phone to make earning even easier. Student Council set forth a goal of raising 1,000 dollars, and everyone’s help in reaching that goal is greatly appreciated.

This week we are heading into the final week of “Fall” sports with our student athletes.  Volleyball plays twice this week against Easton at home on Tuesday and then at the “All City” girls volleyball tournament on Wednesday at Liberty High School.   Our cross-country runners have their final race on Wednesday running at Monacacy in the Hurricane Invitational. Then finally on Thursday our Football team plays a tough Broughal squad under the lights at the BASD stadium. That game begins at 5:30 p.m.

Have a great remainder to your weekend!
