Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for this week of Thanksgiving. First, we wish to thank our students, our parents and our staff for last week’s hosting of our Student Led Conferences as well as those who came in to celebrate our children’s Academic Progress during our morning breakfasts. It is very important for us to continue to help our children be in the “driver’s seat” of their education. Having them take the responsibility to report out their progress, as was the case in the Student Led Conferences, is one way we do so. Education is evolving at such a rapid pace, and the sooner we help children become independent and self-reliant for their own personal learning, the more successful they will be. We will always need to be a part of our children’s learning and by helping them stay focused and committed and by encouraging them to never give up we will see only great things from them. Although we only have school Monday and Tuesday this week, we are busy trying to get as much done as possible before the holiday season. On Monday we have invited select alumni back to Northeast to impart words of wisdom to our 7th and 8th grade classes and to share with our students the lessons they have learned growing up. On Tuesday a number of our teams have field trips scheduled with Team Dream traveling down to Philadelphia to the Museum of the American Revolution and Teams Impact and Grit head out bowling to celebrate the holiday season.

Over the next two days we really rev up our practices for the beginning of our winter sports seasons, because when we return from Thanksgiving we start our official season for both the boys and girls basketball teams. We wish our student athletes all the best in their upcoming seasons.

Schools will be closed Wednesday, November 27th until we reopen for school on Tuesday, December 3rd. May everyone have a most pleasant Thanksgiving break and enjoy the meaning of Thanksgiving: family and friends!
