Home / Daily Announcements / Sunday Shout-Out for the Week of January 12, 2020

Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for the week of January 12th. Though this weekend’s weather has been anything but frigid, we can expect to have frigid weather for the next month or two. Please help us remind students to dress appropriately. Also remember to have an established plan in cases when the school is closing early or opening late due to inclement weather. There are limited resources for supervision during these times, and no one wants to place individuals at risk because of a lack of planning.

On to school news: Believe it or not, we are less than two weeks away from the start of the second semester! With that information please know that we just began meeting with Liberty High School about the transition of our 8th grade students up to Liberty as the class of 2024!   Eighth grade parents please mark the date of Wednesday, January 22nd as the first of several parent orientation nights at Liberty. A flyer will be sent home with our 8th graders, and we are sure Liberty will be sending out their own Parent-Link with more information. With this in mind, we continue to stress with all of our children the importance of paying attention to their schoolwork. Before they know it, time will pass, and they will all be having to decide what they are going to do after graduation and whether they are going to apply to college or another type of post-secondary school. It is hard to believe how fast the time does go by.

This week begins many of our 2nd set of after school clubs and activities. Please ask your child if they have signed up to be in our after school clubs and remind them to communicate with you the days they will be staying after the normal dismissal time. With so many activities we really need to make sure our students take responsibility to communicate their whereabouts, so that everyone is on the same page.

Our Northeast Parent and Teacher Organization meets this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. immediately followed by our Band Parent Organization’s meeting at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday night we have an exciting display of our students’ talents when our PUMAS encore team hosts its annual Northeast’s Got Talent. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 6:30 p.m.

In athletics this week both our boys and girls basketball teams each have three games.  Monday, they face Raub with the girls being home. On Wednesday they play South Mountain with the boys at home. On Thursday the teams take on Broughal with again the boys being home. Have a great remainder to your weekend.
