This project will bring leadership skills and creative problem solving to elementary students through arts based community projects. After learning about how local artist, Virginia Abbott creates original artwork utilizing recycled and repurposed materials, students will survey their schools to determine a location that will benefit from an original recycled artwork. Working as a team, students will research, design, and create their artwork. Students will enhance their leadership skills by partnering with classroom teachers, principals, parents and administrative staff for project support and approval.
