Through the use of a makerspace at Marvine Elementary’s Library, students will gain a better understanding of what STEM is and stands for, how it relates to them, and gain 21st century skills that go along with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The objectives of Marvine’s Makerspace include providing students with the knowledge of how the STEM subject areas are related through the use of a makerspace, providing students the opportunity to compose code and investigate circuitry, and to allow students to justify their thinking when using building materials.
