February is Black History Month Black History is American history, and this month is a chance for all of us to learn, reflect, and celebrate 100 years together.
Black History Month Spirit Week – Mon 2/23 – Fri 2/27
Career Pathways and Service Learning Fair The Career Pathways and Service Learning Fair for 11th grade students will be hosted in the morning on Tuesday, February 24th. This is an opportunity for students to interact with community business leaders to assist in connecting their passion and purpose with achievable goals for their career interest. All 11th grade students are expected to attend and teachers will notify you on when you will attend the fair. Please email Mr. Uhler with any questions you have about the fair.
Special Olympic Volunteer Forms are available in your SSC offices and in room 505. Students may volunteer if they are in good standing: Volunteers CANNOT have more than 2 unexcused absences and late’s to school. Volunteers will receive 6 hours of community service, a shirt, and lunch and must pay $6. All forms must be signed by your teachers FIRST then taken to your SSC office to get signed by your assistant principal. Signed forms and money must be submitted to Mrs. Prodes in room 505 in person!! There are limited spots, the deadline is Friday March 13 or whenever spots are filled.
Senior Portraits – Deadline at Christmas City Studio is Friday Mar 13, 2026. If you are unable to have your photo taken at the studio, a limited number of sessions will be available at Liberty on Tuesday, February 3rd and Thursday, March 5th for your yearbook pose and cap and gown ONLY.
BASEBALL The 2026 baseball season is almost here! Tryouts will officially begin on Monday, March 2nd. To make sure you’re ready to hit the field, please take note of the following requirements and information:
The Spring Track & Field Anyone interested in joining the spring track team or If you are interested in being a team manager and assisting the team with daily operations, please contact Coach Darr!
Debate Team The Debate Team will be warming up for the Spring season, and we’re inviting you to come for open debates! We’ll be meeting on Thursdays, at 2:45 in room 860 in the KCC. The team will choose debate topics, and the format will vary based on the number of participants and the topic. If you’re interested in attending and flexing those debating and argument skills, just stop by room 860 on Thursday after school! Follow us on Instagram @lhs_debate_team for more details.”
Model UN – The Model UN Team will be meeting right after school on both this Tuesday and Thursday in Room 334. Current members should plan on attending at least one of the meetings. New members are welcome to attend one or both of the meetings as well.
NAACP Next meeting is Monday, 2/23/26 at 2:45 pm in room 104. Any questions, please see Mrs. Guzman in the athletic office.
Black Student Union is meeting on the 24th of February in room 211, right after school.
Book Club The Book club will meet after school in room 302 on Tuesday February 24th! Join us for a “bookish” craft .
LHS Future Medical Professionals Club: Our next Meeting is on Thursday, Feb 26th, after school, 2:45-3:45pm in Lab Center Room 414. Guest Speaker: Our guest speaker is Dr. Courtney Moore, MD from LVHN-Cedar Crest, an Associate Chief Medical Officer and physician in Hospital Medicine.
