Ed was born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and attended Governor Wolf Elementary School, East Hills Middle School and graduated from Freedom High School before attending Penn State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. In 1993 Ed began his career as an agent with New York Life. He has been a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) since 1994 and served as President of NAIFA of the Lehigh Valley from 1999-2000. Ed has earned the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) from The American College and is also designated a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF®).
Ed has been very active in his community over the years. He currently serves on the the ArtsQuest Musikfest Committee and has been a 25 year Musikfest volunteer. He is a past president of the Northampton County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association and a past president of the Governor Wolf PTA. He chaired the Parent Advisory Committee of the Bethlehem Area School District from 2011 to 2017. He has coached Little League and tournament softball and currently serves as treasurer of The Patriot Club, Freedom High School’s all-sports booster organization. Ed is a verger and a past vestry member at the Cathedral Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and is a member of the Vergers’ Guild of the Episcopal Church. In the fall of 2017 Ed was selected to serve on the UCLA Parents’ Council.
Ed has been married to his wife, Karen, since 1991. They have a daughter named Jana and a Yellow Lab named Sophie. In his spare time Ed enjoys photography, golfing, reading biographies of the founding fathers and watching Penn State and UCLA football and Phillies and IronPigs baseball.
