General Announcements

Liberty Clothing Closet – Is always accepting donations of gently used or new clothing items.  If you are in need of something, please make an appointment in SSC 800 to visit the closet.

The 2018 yearbooks – If you ordered your yearbook last year, please pick it up after school in Rm. 001 between 2:30 and 3:00.

Senior class duesSenior class dues may be paid in Rms. 508 or 512 before or after school.

Senior Yearbook Pictures – If you did not yet schedule your senior pictures, TIME IS GOING FAST!!! Please contact Christmas City Studios at 610-691-2109 to schedule your appointment. You can also request an appointment by visiting their website www.christmascitystudio.com. The deadline for all senior pictures is February 28, 2019. Late submissions will NOT be accepted. Any questions, see Mrs. Gilliard in Rm. 001.

The After-School Library Program will be closed on the following dates to accommodate the Liberty Chess Team and their tournaments.  December 6th   December 20th and January 17th.

Library The After-school Library Program runs Mondays through Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students must sign into the Library by 2:45 for access and activity bus passes.

Attention Seniors:  Need help with your college application process?  Ms. Giannantonio, Mr. Porrata, and Ms. Walke will be providing assistance with the process in RM 015 on Mondays & Wednesdays from 2:45-3:45. If you have questions please stop in to see Ms. Walke in SSC 800.

Please Donate – To Peaceable Kingdom Animal Shelter. Please help Kayla Roman and Sara Gubish collect towels, blankets, toys, and unopened dog or cat food to deliver to the shelter. The boxes are located in Rm. 867, SSC 112, SSC 800 and the main office.  Donations are due by Dec. 21.

Lanta Bus Passes – Are available for purchase in the LHS Coffee Shop – $1 each.

Clubs & Organizations

Cancer Crushers – Will be selling Wish Bracelets in the CAF during all lunches from

Mon. Dec. 10 through Fri. Dec. 14 for only $1 each.  All proceeds support the American Cancer Society. 

Art Club – Meeting Tues. Dec. 11 in Rm. 202 at 2:30 PM.

FBLA is holding a gift card raffle in the cafeteria during all lunches this week.  Tickets are 25 cents or 6 for $1.    Dunkin Donuts, Mod Pizza, Applebees, and Philly Pretzels just to name a few.  

National Honor SocietyToys for Tots drive to benefit children in the Lehigh Valley. There will be donation boxes placed in each Student Service Center and the Athletic Office.  The drive will run until December 17. Please consider donating gently used toys and games.

Social Justice Club – Holds a meeting each Tuesday in Rm. 305 right after school.

Recycling for SustainabilityMeets every day after school in Rm. 507.  1 hour of community service is offered.

Homework ClubSessions will be in Rm. 331 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 until 3:45. All students are welcome.

STAR Club– If you have an interested in learning more about the military and developing leadership skills, you should check out the STAR Club.  Meetings are every Thursday right after school in Rm. 104.

The Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences (PGSS) was established in order to provide a summer enrichment experience in the sciences and mathematics for talented Pennsylvania high school students and to encourage them to pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering or mathematics. The program provides instruction in biological sciences, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and computer science, with emphasis on collaborative learning and team research.

PENN STATE, Pennsylvania School for Excellence in the Agricultural Sciences:

The University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy (UPHCSA) and the Penn State, Pennsylvania School for rams may be found at Excellence in Agricultural Sciences, all former Governor’s School programs, are accepting applications for the 2019 summer programs. Current high school sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply.  The application deadline is February 15, 2019, but we encourage students to apply early. Application is open online.

Temple College 101 is a two-week program for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Students will:

  • Take an SAT prep course
  • Write an admissions essay
  • Meet faculty and staff and learn about college life

Lutron’s Explorer Post takes place here on our campus in Coopersburg, PA and offers high school students an opportunity to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  Our program is taught by Lutron Engineers and runs from 6-7:30PM every Thursday night through May 2019.  We ask that you reach out to any students that you think would be interested in our program and give them our website (http://ep707.wordpress.com  ).  The Pennsylvania Invention Convention  – Is designed to showcase student problem-solving, innovation, creativity, and ingenuity while making learning fun! OFFERED BY NAVIANCE Students and parents can now attend courses to learn about topics such as efficient note taking, time management, goal setting, managing stress, writing a college essay, digital responsibility, and more! These courses support students as they develop the critical academic, transition and interpersonal skills to be successful on their journey to figuring out their path after high school.  The FREE courses/videos are offered for a limited time (until early 2019). SAT vs. ACT How do you Decide?  November 17th 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm Just about every college in the country will take the SAT and ACT interchangeably, so how do you decide which one is for you? Attend this free seminar at Test Prep for Success to get all your questions answered about the two tests. After all, once you’ve decided which test to take, you’re ready to hit the books and get your score as high as possible.

Iacocca Global Entrepreneurship Intensive – Lehigh University  Develop an entrepreneurial mindset and learn how to lead in a globally diverse environment in these intensive, hands-on summer programs for international and U.S. high school students. Workshop sessions and select events are held at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Other activities take place at local company or cultural sites. Transportation during the program is provided. Students stay in university housing as a group, with two students to a room. Mentors and staff managers live on-site to ensure a safe and supervised environment.
