General Announcements

AP Registration will be held during blocks 2 and 4 in the Auditorium on Tuesday October 22, 2024 and Thursday October 24,  2024. Extra registration forms can be found in the Student Service Centers and AP classrooms.

Attention Seniors: if you want to attend senior breakfast on Friday, October 25,  your class dues must be paid in full by Friday, October 18! See Miss Michael or Mr. Truby with any questions!

Senior Boys- do you want to perform in the spirit week pep rally with the Varsity cheerleaders?  If you haven’t already signed up, please scan the QR code on one of the posters or go to the libertyhurricanes_cheer instagram account to sign up. Please check your email regarding class dues & spirit week activities! See Miss Michael or Mr. Truby with any questions!

Big Brothers Big Sisters  Calling all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors! Join Big Brothers Big Sisters and sign up today to become a Big and befriend a Little in need of an extra positive role model and mentor. You don’t have to be a superhero and it doesn’t take much – you just need to be willing to spend time together, enjoy some laughs, and be a friend!

High School Bigs is a mentoring program where volunteer high school students (Bigs) are matched with elementary school students (Littles) to develop a friendship and be a role model. Bigs complete an application and enrollment interview and then are paired with a Little at Freemansburg, Thomas Jefferson, or Governor Wolf Elementary and meet once a week after school. During their time together, Bigs and Littles will enjoy playing games, helping with schoolwork, and enjoying conversation. Freshman, sophomores, and juniors are eligible to participate.

Completed applications due by October 23rd.

ATHLETICS

Boys Tennis  For any boy interested in playing boys tennis this spring, there will be a meeting on Monday, October 14th after school in Room 836. If you cannot attend, please send an email to Coach Conrad.

Clubs & Organization

Are you in need of community service hours? Do you want to make a difference in your community? Check out Interact Club.   We will be meeting after school Tuesdays in room 134.

The Cooking Club will be meeting today, Monday, October 14th, after school at 2:55 pm in room #407. We are looking forward to meeting all our former and new members. 

NAACP is having a meeting on October 14th  in room 104 at 2:45 pm.  See you all there!

AAPI Club Meeting: The first Asian American/Pacific Islander club meeting will be held on Tuesday October 15th right after school in room 500.  Please join us!  We look forward to meeting new people!

Video Production Meeting: Attention all Video production members.  There will be a meeting after school on Tuesday 10/15 at 2:30 in room 002.  We will discuss filming of important upcoming events such as Spirit Week and the STN Video Competition.  See Mr. Bittner with any questions.NAACP is having a meeting on October 14th  in room 104 at 2:45 pm.  See you all there!Operation Smile: There will be an Operation Smile meeting on Wednesday, October 16 at 7 am in the AMP. If you want to run for office, please email Ms. Mainiero for the form. Officer application forms are due by October 14.

Recycling and Sustainability PA Announcement for Club Meetings:  “Need community service? Want to make a difference at Liberty and in the Community? Join the LHS Recycling & Sustainability project and earn hours up to two to three days per week, after school from 2:30-3:30. JOIN US!! See Mr. Zahm in Rm 512 or 525 after school any  Tuesday ,Wednesday  or Thursday

Guidance

Community Service Do you consider yourself patriotic? Do you place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem? Do you feel proud when you see the flag flying high or wonder what happened when you see it’s at half staff?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might be the right person to raise and lower the flag outside LHS and earn community service hours doing it.  See Mr. Wuchter in SSC 103 to learn more.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY 

On Thursday, October 3rd from 8:30-10:30, we are looking for 6-10 student volunteers to help members of the cross country team at  Louise Moore Park. Volunteers will be clearing brush, walnuts and branches from the cross country course. Volunteers will receive 2 hours of CS plus be fed for their time. 

ALSO On Saturday, October 5th from 9-12 we are looking for 6-10 student volunteers to support the middle school cross country meet held at the park. Volunteers will receive 3 hours of CS and also be fed.
