Big Brothers Big Sisters Calling all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors! Join Big Brothers Big Sisters and sign up today to become a Big and befriend a Little in need of an extra positive role model and mentor. You don’t have to be a superhero and it doesn’t take much – you just need to be willing to spend time together, enjoy some laughs, and be a friend!
High School Bigs is a mentoring program where volunteer high school students (Bigs) are matched with elementary school students (Littles) to develop a friendship and be a role model. Bigs complete an application and enrollment interview and then are paired with a Little at Freemansburg, Thomas Jefferson, or Governor Wolf Elementary and meet once a week after school. During their time together, Bigs and Littles will enjoy playing games, helping with schoolwork, and enjoying conversation. Freshman, sophomores, and juniors are eligible to participate.

Community Service Do you consider yourself patriotic? Do you place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem? Do you feel proud when you see the flag flying high or wonder what happened when you see it’s at half staff? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might be the right person to raise and lower the flag outside LHS and earn community service hours doing it. COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
On Thursday, October 3rd from 8:30-10:30, we are looking for 6-10 student volunteers to help members of the cross country team at Louise Moore Park. Volunteers will be clearing brush, walnuts and branches from the cross country course. Volunteers will receive 2 hours of CS plus be fed for their time.
ALSO On Saturday, October 5th from 9-12 we are looking for 6-10 student volunteers to support the middle school cross country meet held at the park. Volunteers will receive 3 hours of CS and also be fed.
