ART CLUBArt club is cancelled this week. See Mrs. Korhammer to arrange make-up times.

ART PROJECTS: All 8th graders who still have not picked up their paper mache shark from Mrs. Klose’s art room, please do so this week. Thanks to all of you who stopped by for them yesterday afternoon.

BASD PROUD: We have decided to display BASD spirit across the Lehigh Valley with #BASDproud car magnets.  Our goal is for parents, students, teachers and staff to make a visible statement of support by displaying the magnets on their cars. Magnets can be purchased for $2 at the main office of each of our schools as well as at the Ed Center. 

MUSIC IN THE PARKS TRIP: Northeast Singers students who are not instrumentalists are to pick up their fundraising information from Mrs. Parker ASAP.  This fundraising will help towards this year’s Music in the Parks competition. 

NEMS THEATRE COMPANY: Today is the last day for auctions for the musical “The Music Man Jr.” Auditions will take place from 3:10-6:00pm.

AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: Boys Group/ Girls Group/ NE Singers will not meet during this week.

MATH NERDSDo you enjoy brainteasers?  Would you like to make words like quirkle, rebus, saduko, q-bits and swish part of your every day conversations? Then join math nerds and brain bashers.  Math Nerds and Brain Bashers is an interactive club that meets every Wednesday from 3:05-4:25pm in Room A305. Permission slips are available in the folders on our posters hanging on every floor or by coming to see either Mrs. Papagni in B305 or Mrs. Shive in A305.  Join math nerds where we make it totes cool to be a nerd!

NEWSPAPER CLUBThe Newspaper Club will NOT meet after school today. Please see Ms. Troutman during Activity instead if possible. Due to the meeting being cancelled today, all submissions for the first issue of the newspaper will be due on Friday November 4th. Please email or see Ms. Troutman in A303 for more information or if you have any questions.”

SPORTSAny field hockey or volleyball player that has not returned their uniform please bring it to Ms. Shive’s, A305 as soon as possible.

THOUGHT OF THE DAYHow many times have you sat in the bleachers and booed a football player who fumbled the ball.  Or maybe you were a good sport and kept your mouth shut but said to yourself, “What an Idiot!”

Theodore Roosevelt, our 26th president, was known as a person of action. He said: It is not the critic that counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.

Today, remember this: If you are active and doing your best – whether it’s with your studies or sports or other activities – you deserve a great deal of credit for fully participating in the game of life. When you stumble don’t let sideline critics discourage your efforts. Instead, give yourself a pat on the back for being in the game in not on the sideline.
