CHESS CLUB: If you are interested in joining, and didn’t join in the fall, feel free to grab a permission form outside of room A108 on the 7th Grade Floor. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Spieker.
DEBATE CLUB: The first Debate Club meeting has been moved to Wednesday, January 18th in room A105. All newcomers are welcome. If you are interested you can pick up a permission form from Mr. Gross or Mrs. Schenk. If you have any questions you can also see one of us.
KNITTING CLUB: The 2nd session for Knitting Club will be starting up January 25th from 3:05-4:05pm in room A203 with Miss Ayre. New students are welcome to join, just stop by Miss Ayre’s room any day after school before January 13th to pick up a permission form. All session 1 knitters are welcome to join again. Looking forward to having new and returning knitters.
NEWSPAPER CLUB: The next meeting will be Wednesday January 18th.
MATH NERDS: We will be having our end of club party today Friday the 13th. Please bring a snack or drink to share with your fellow nerds. Whoever said Friday the 13th was unlucky clearly wasn’t a math nerd member!
PEACE WEEK: Attention! Attention! Peace Week is coming January 17th-20th! There will be school wide activities, morning announcement performances and a week of themed dress up days!
*Tuesday the 17th- Pajama Day! Warm up to a new friend, get to know someone different today! Say hey, what’s up, hello to someone new!
*Wednesday the 18th-Block out the hate! Wear your sunglasses to school and be positive. Too cool to care what others think! Sign the bully free pledge during lunch!
*Thursday the 19th-Sock it to rejection! Wear your most outrageous or colorful socks. Show you accept everyone’s differences and beliefs.
*Friday the 20th-Respect for one another! Wear your team t-shirt or team color to represent working together for peace! We can always count on each other.
PEP RALLY: Today is our winter Pep Rally honoring our boys and girls basketball teams! Wear your green and white, and shake your pom poms which will be sold this am and before the pep rally! The pep rally will conclude with a basketball game where the teachers will attempt to beat the girl and boy team members!
DENTAL EXAMS: Today, the majority of the seventh grade school dental exams will be done in the nurse’s office. Those students involved will have individual hall passes. Students: If you have any dental exam form, please deliver it to the nurse’s office now so we can update the schedule. Approximately 160 exams are scheduled to be done so the exams are expected to last until noontime. The nurse’s office will be closed except to those students having dental exams and those requiring medications. Teachers: Please allow the students to come to the nurse’s office at the time on their pass. If there is an emergency, please call Student Services 42903. You will be notified when the remaining dental exams are scheduled.
SPORTS: Coach Schaffrick and Coach Amann would like to send a huge Congratulations to the Girls Varsity and JV Basketball Teams!!!
Our Girls Varsity basketball team beat Broughal winning 30-7!!! 7th grader Stephanie Donato drove to the basket repeatedly adding multiple points to the board. 7th grader Alexis Sostre and 8th grader Gabby MacTaggart also added points to the board.
Girls JV basketball played an AMAZING game against Broughal. Winning 20-9!!!! 7th grader Alexis Sostre made 9 points for our team! Adding to the score was 7th grader Hannah Bosco (6 points) and 8th graders Trinity Lacayo (2 points) and Yesenia Diaz (3 points)!
It was a very physical game; with 3 pointers and awesome rebounds!!!
Everyone working together and executing what you have been taught was vital to our win!!!
