Sunday Shout-Out – Week of March 5, 2017: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends.  Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for this first full week of March. First we hope everyone has checked into the Student Access Center and checked on the progress of your child thus far in the third quarter. Those mid quarter grades were finalized last week. There is still time for children to work hard and improve their grades if they are not happy with their marks thus far. If you need assistance looking at your child’s grades in the Student Access Center please call the main office at 610-868-8581 and ask for Mrs. Rincon.

This week in school we end our Book Fair that benefits our school library. Classes began visiting the book fair last week and the last day for purchases will be Thursday. Also this week we have our first official week of tryouts and practices for our spring sports. We congratulate all the students trying out for our teams and we encourage them whether they win or lose to never stop trying. The end of our week is a busy one for many of our musicians. On Friday we host our Northeast Middle School Jazz Festival and then on Saturday our marching band performs in the Parade of Shamrocks in downtown Bethlehem.

Finally we want to give everyone advanced notice to please mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 22nd, when you are invited to Northeast’s STEAM Night. This fun night of hands-on learning experiences in the sciences, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics will be held from 5:30-7:30pm. Come see the power of liquid nitrogen, build structures out of spaghetti and marshmallows, make origami creations, and experiment with robotics, guitar frets, and programming computer games just to name a few. It is a FREE event for families, and students will receive a half PROUD Pound for attending.  Students will be bringing home more information about this interactive event.  We hope to see you there! Have a great remainder to your weekend.
