Sunday Shout-Out – Week of March 26, 2017: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends.  Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for the last full school week of March. First off thank you to those of you just returning home from our Northeast Band & Orchestra Parent Organizations first ever Bingo event. We greatly appreciate your support.   This coming week Spring really comes alive as we begin our Spring Sports, have our Liberty Class of 2021 introduced to the high school and buckle down as we enter the PSSA testing in April. We also have many evening events here at school this week. We start Monday night with our Band and Orchestra having pictures followed by Tuesday night with a special parent education night featuring “Coach Kumari” as she speaks to living in the age of social media. That presentation is scheduled in our Auditorium and will begin at 6:30 p.m. We welcome our neighboring parents from Broughal for this night of learning and sharing as we parent our children in this digital age. Wednesday night we follow up with the District’s Future Chefs competition in our cafeteria and then finally round out our evening events with our hosting of the All City Middle School Chorus Concert on Thursday. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

Our days are no less busy this week starting again with Monday when our 8th grade students spend a majority of the day at Liberty visiting classrooms and thinking about the educational pathway they wish to take during their high school career. We finish up Monday hosting both softball and soccer games here at Northeast. We open up our softball season with Allentown Central and our soccer season with our cross-town rivals, Broughal.   On Tuesday we go out to visit our soon to be Hornets from Freemansburg as we prepare them for our middle school. We wish our Reading Olympics students the best as they head to Easton High School for their competition on Tuesday. Wednesday our 8thgrade musicians go off to New York to see the famous Lion King show on Broadway. Believe it or not, Wednesday also marks the beginning of the 4th and final marking period for the school year. Thursday and Friday are marked for our PSSA focus assemblies as we prepare our children for the first week of April when we begin our statewide testing. We know they have worked hard to be successful and now all we can hope for is that they work hard to show what they know on these assessments. Thursday our Soccer and Softball teams play again at home as our soccer team hosts Nazareth and our Softball team hosts Bethlehem Catholic.   Both games begin at 4 p.m.

Have a great remainder to your Sunday.
