Week of May 7, 2017: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our “Northeast Sunday Shout Out” for the week of May 7th. This week our district celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week, and we wish to thank our parent association for everything they do for us. They make every week feel like teacher appreciation week.
Now what do we have this week? It seems like almost everything possible. This week we host our last two elementary schools bringing their fifth grade students here to Northeast for a majority of the day. On Tuesday we host Spring Garden and on Wednesday Freemansburg will be here. We enjoy hosting all of our elementary visits, and we thank all of our student leaders and performers who help show our future “Hornets” what it means to be Northeast P.R.O.U.D.! Speaking of performers and performances this week, we have two evening performances. On Tuesday we hold our annual Spring Choral Concert and on Thursday we host our Spring Band Concert. Both performances begin at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday we hold our monthly NEPTO meeting and a Band Parents’ meeting. These are the final meetings for this school year for these two groups. On Thursday we also host our last “Hornet Brunch”. Towards the end of this week two of our 6th grade teams will enjoy time outside the walls of our school when Thursday the Team of Navigators explore Lost River Caverns and then on Friday the Leaders’ Rock team visits New York to culminate their year of studies on Immigration Leadership. We end our school week on Friday holding our Spring P.R.O.U.D. A-thon. This is an excellent celebration of school unity and pride, and we look forward to what hopefully is good weather.
On the athletic fields this week we close out our softball season with two final games. On Monday we host Lower Mac and on Wednesday we end our season away at Allen. Soccer has two games also this week. Soccer is at home against East Hills on Tuesday and then on Thursday our kids play away at Beca. Soccer ends it season at home on the 15th against Nitschmann. Finally our cheerleaders, dance team, and step team head out to Hershey on Saturday to show what they can do in Hershey’s annual cheer and dance competition. We wish everyone the best as they look to excel. Have a great remainder to your Sunday.
