Week of May 14, 2017: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends and happy Mother’s Day.   I hope today is finding all mothers and grandmothers pampered and loved. Here is our “Northeast Sunday Shout Out” for the week of May 14th. First we want to thank all of the wonderful parents that showed us such a fantastic level of support and appreciation this past week during Teacher Appreciation Week.  We know what being pampered feels like. Thank you so much, we are so very grateful to have you behind us.   Note please that our NEPTO has partnered with Friendly’s for a Northeast Eats Out on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Starting off this week at Northeast I know there are about 275 students looking forward to Monday’s day at Putt Putt U! The students invited on this wonderful day of miniature golf and cooking out are our P.R.O.U.D. Society members who have worked hard this year in order to accomplish this prestigious recognition. We thank them for giving their all and for making us all Northeast P.R.O.U.D.! Also Monday we have our last Soccer games of the season with our varsity playing Nitschmann at the BASD stadium. This game begins at 6 p.m. Jumping on to Tuesday our 7th grade Team of Explorers begins the culmination of their Diversity Unit by showing off their studies of different countries and cultures to their fellow schoolmates through their Diversity Fair. The unit comes to a close on Wednesday when they share the various ethnic foods they have discovered during the third annual Diversity Brunch. Also on Tuesday and Wednesday our 8th grade seminar students will be helping to host the district’s Junior Craftsman Along the Monocacy. Thursday night we will be holding our Spring Orchestra, Chorus and World Percussion Concert. The concert begins at 7 p.m. We hope to see you there! On Friday of this week we end with our seventh grade teams going on their class field trip to Baltimore and conclude the evening hosting our eighth graders at their final middle school dance, the Eighth Grade Farewell Dance. What a perfect way to end our week!!

May the weather this week be a bit warmer than last. Thank you and may you all enjoy the remainder of Mother’s Day.
