Week of September 17, 2017: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for the week of September 17th. First a thank you to all that were able to support our school by “eating out” last week at Martellucci’s. It was a great success because of you. Please note that this week we have our monthly NEPTO meeting on Wednesday. The meetings are held in the cafeteria starting at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is followed by our monthly band parent meeting held in our band room beginning at 7:00 p.m. Also remember to return your money for the “In the City” coupon booklets or return the book if you do not wish to purchase one. They are to be returned to your child’s homeroom teacher.
This week we will be recognizing and participating in what is known as the “International Day of Service and Peace”. On Wednesday we have the privilege again of having Moravian College students join us as we talk about striving for a world without conflict and war and living on streets that are not plagued with violence, bigotry and hatred. Please join with your children in conversation about ways we can all do our part to obtain this vision of a world living in PEACE with one another. We will end our day on Wednesday with our fall Pep Rally. We always enjoy acknowledging and celebrating our students that go above and beyond in our classrooms as well as outside of our classrooms. Along those same lines, on Friday we will be celebrating our P.R.O.U.D. initiative by hosting our Fall P.R.O.U.D. A-thon. This fundraiser helps to support our P.R.O.U.D. Society and all the students that work hard in and outside the classroom showing that Northeast Pride. We thank you in advance for any and all donations you can provide us for this event. One more reminder about this week; there is NO SCHOOL on Thursday in observance of Rosh Hashanah. Sleep in on Thursday and then enjoy a good book.
We end with our fall sports schedule for the week. Our field hockey team plays on Tuesday at home against Eyer and Wednesday at Northampton. Our Volleyball team is home against Trexler on Tuesday and away against South Mountain on Wednesday. Our Football team plays on Saturday at the BASD Stadium against our cross-town rival, Nitschmann. The game starts at 9:00 a.m. We hope to see as many fans as possible out supporting our athletes.
Have a great remainder to your weekend!
