Week of April 29, 2018: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is the “Northeast Sunday Shout Out” for this week ending April and going into May. Now that all of our PSSAs have been completed we can finally try to get back into our routines. All of our children made us extremely PROUD, Northeast P.R.O.U.D. during the PSSA testing!

May is always one of our most active months of school as we finish welcoming our incoming sixth grade students and exit our 8th graders to the high school. We are proud this week to host the elementary All-City Orchestra and Band with rehearsals and their performance Thursday evening. On Friday we invite our incoming 6th grade students to join us for our end of year 6th and 7th grade dance.

Spring field trips are beginning to mount up, as our Team Active students will be cheering on the Iron Pigs on Wednesday during one of the education days and our team of Navigators head out to the Lehigh Gap Nature Center on Thursday. Also this week our 8th grade seminar students are proud to represent our school and our district at the state level of the “What’s So Cool about Manufacturing” competition in Harrisburg. We end the week with our Spring P.R.O.U.D. – a – thon on Friday. This is always a wonderful event for our students and staff.

Our eighth grade teachers would like to remind parents and students that tomorrow, Monday, April 30th is the due date for payment for the eighth grade field trip to Washington, D.C. on June 6th.  If you have any questions regarding this trip, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher.

We have another full week with our spring sports teams. This week our soccer team plays twice and our softball team plays three times. The softball games are at Whitehall on Monday, at home on Wednesday against Easton and at Lower Macungie on Friday. Our soccer team is home on Tuesday against Nazareth and at East Hills on Thursday. Our students interested in trying out for our majorette squad for next school year will be doing so on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Have a great remainder to your Sunday as we welcome in the Days of May!
