PICTURE RETAKE DAY: Picture Retakes will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018. Students that would like their picture retaken, please bring your complete original picture packet on retake day. Also, any students that were absent on picture day or new students please stop by Student Services for a picture order form.
SEMINAR STUDENTS: Today is the 6th grade archaeological dig in Freemansburg. 6th grade seminar students, please meet in the main lobby at 9:15am. Make sure you bring your supplies for the dig as well as your coats and lunches.
ACTIVITIES:
- BOY SCOUTS: If you are interested in joining Boy Scouts, please see your guidance counselor for a permission form. Boy Scout meetings are held once a week here at Northeast on Tuesdays from 3:05PM – 5PM. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 30th . Boy Scouts has a lot to offer, so come be part of the fun!
- HOMEWORK CLUB: Homework club with Mrs. Diefenderfer is cancelled for this week.
- KNITTING CLUB: Attention all 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Knitting Club will be starting up again soon. So come and see Miss Ayre in room A206 for a permission form.
- ROBOTICS CLUB: Are you interested in building robots? If so, consider joining Robotics Club. Robotics Club will be held on Wednesdays from 3:05 – 5:00pm starting on November 7th. Robotics club will be held in Mr. Gavronski’s room which is A307 on the 8th grade floor. Permission slips can be picked up in Mrs. Papagni’s room which is B305. Beginner club members will be building autonomous solar powered robots while advanced students will work on soldering circuit boards for more advanced robots.
THE ARTS:
- AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS & DRAMA: Rehearsal schedule for the week of October 29:
- Tuesday, October 30- NE Singers – all. This is a change, due to a special event this Thursday, November 1. NE Singers – girls, thank you for your flexibility.
- Wednesday, October 31- No rehearsal – half day
- Thursday, November 1- Drama- Rehearsal of Lion King Jr., 3:10-3:45, followed by a meeting with actor Daniel Roebuck, which will take place from 4-5 PM. Details to be shared at Monday’s read through. Thank you for your flexibility!
- Friday, November 2- Boys Group and Girls Group
- CHORUS:Thank you to our sixth, seventh, and eighth grade chorus members for a good rehearsal yesterday… It is a pleasure to work with you. Please see Mrs. Parker if you need a chorus contract.
- DRAMA: Thank you to our cast of Northeast musical for yesterday’s read through… Thanks to you, this will be a fantastic show! Thank you for your time and talent. If you were not at the rehearsal yesterday, please see Mrs. Parker for a contract and a script. Thank you.
SPORTS:
- CROSS COUNTRY: Reminder that any runner for Cross Country that did not turn in his/her uniform shirt should return it to Coach Tandy’s room A106.
- WINTER SPORTS PHYSICALS: Attention 7th and 8th grade students interested in playing a winter sport. The BASD along with St.Lukes will be hosting FREE physicals on 10/30/18 from 5-7 pm at Northeast Middle School’s Main gym and then again on 11/1/18 from 5-7 at Freedom’s Main gym. Please stop by the main office or student services to pick up a PIAA physical form. Those students who played a fall sport just need to pick up a re-eval form. All forms must be turned into our athletic trainer prior to tryouts. Any questions see Mr. Korcienski in room A-107.
DROP OFF TABLE: Student Services has a drop off table. If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up. Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass. If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.
BOXTOPS: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Derrington or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.
