ACTIVITIES:
- BOY SCOUTS: If you are interested in joining Boy Scouts, please see your guidance counselor for a permission form. Boy Scout meetings are held once a week here at Northeast on Tuesdays from 3:05PM – 5PM. Boy Scouts has a lot to offer, so come be part of the fun!
- CHESS CLUB: Attention Chess Club players, the last day of the 1st Session will be Wednesday Nov. 7th for Chess Club. We will complete the Tournament Bracket. Please come to Mr. Spieker in the morning during homeroom to deliver the $2 for the Participation in the Pizza Party on the last day. Any questions please see Mr. Spieker.
- GIRL SCOUTS: Attention 6th and 7th grade girls: Girl Scouts is coming to Northeast! We will be meeting after school on Fridays. If you need to turn in your form or pick up a new one, please see Ms. Tennis in Student Services. Forms are due this Friday, Nov. 9th! Our first meeting is Nov. 16th – see you there.
- ROBOTICS CLUB: Are you interested in building robots? If so, consider joining Robotics Club. Robotics Club will be held on Wednesdays from 3:05 – 5:00pm starting on Wednesday, November 7th. Robotics club will be held in Mr. Gavronski’s room which is A307 on the 8th grade floor. Permission slips can be picked up in Mrs. Papagni’s room which is B305. Beginner club members will be building autonomous solar powered robots while advanced students will work on soldering circuit boards for more advanced robots.
- WORLD LANGUAGE CLUB: The next meetings will be on Wednesday, November 14th and Thursday, November 15th after school in Señorita Danner’s Spanish room B201. Hope to see you there!
THE ARTS:
- AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: Rehearsal schedule for the week of November 5:
- Wednesday, November 7th – NE Singers – all from 3:10-4pm
- Thursday, November 8th – Boys Group and Girls Group from 3:10-4pm
- Friday, November 9th – no rehearsal
- DONEGAN PERFORMANCE: If any of the after school vocal groups students would like to join Mrs. Parker in performing at Donegan Elementary School this Friday, November 9th; please see Parker at some point during the day Wednesday. This performance is a request from Donegan to perform for their community’s Thanksgiving dinner. Singers, dancers, and more are welcome! Need more information? Please see Mrs. Parker today
- SALUTE THE TROOPS CONCERT: The Salute the Troops Concert is coming! Students who are performing: if you wish to purchase tickets, be sure to see either Mr. Rupnik or Mrs. Parker for an order form. The tickets are available for $5. The cost will be $10 at the door. Be sure to order your tickets early!
- DANCE TEAM: Practice Wednesday, November7, after school. Remember, you must attend today, and if you have any problems with practice, you must see Mr. Huie.
- DRAMA: Students in the cast of Lion King Jr.: Your contract is due no later than Monday, November 12th. Please see Mrs. Parker if you have any questions. Thanks!
- STEP TEAM: Step team next practice is Wednesday November 7th – bring boots or sneakers.
- WORLD PERCUSSION: Practice tomorrow, Thursday, November 8, after school for everyone. It is mandatory. See Mr. Huie if there are any questions about practice.
SPORTS:
- BOYS BASKETBALL: There will be a boy’s basketball open gym on Wednesday, November 7th from 3:15 to 4:15pm in the auxiliary gym– 8th grade only.
- CROSS COUNTRY: Reminder that any runner for Cross Country that did not turn in his/her uniform shirt should return it to Coach Tandy’s room A106.
DROP OFF TABLE: Student Services has a drop off table. If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up. Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass. If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.
BOXTOPS: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Derrington or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.
