NORTHEAST GOT TALENT: It’s that time of year again – Northeast Got Talent time!!!! If you can sing, if you can dance, if you have martial-arts moves, if you can do magic, if you are an insane Rubik’s Cube solver, if you do gymnastics, if you can draw, if you are in a band, or if you are solo artist…then come to our information meeting, Monday, November 19, immediately after school in the cafeteria. Very important information will be given out in regards to the 1st round of auditions. If you have any questions, ask an Encore Teacher.
THANKSGIVING DONATIONS: Thanksgiving is almost here and Student leadership needs your help! We have a goal to reach 30 whole baskets by Thursday, November 15th! Any homeroom that completes their basket by that deadline wins a special prize! Be sure to bring as many items as you can, as we appreciate any sort of donations. Thank you!
ACTIVITIES
- BOY SCOUTS: If you are interested in joining Boy Scouts, please see your guidance counselor for a permission form. Boy Scout meetings are held once a week here at Northeast on Tuesdays from 3:05PM – 5PM. Boy Scouts has a lot to offer, so come be part of the fun!
- GIRL SCOUTS: Attention 6th and 7th grade girls: Girl Scouts is coming to Northeast! We will be meeting after school on Fridays. If you need to turn in your form or pick up a new one, please see Ms. Tennis in Student Services. Forms are due this Friday, Nov. 9th! Our first meeting is Nov. 16th – see you there.
- WORLD LANGUAGE CLUB: The next meetings will be on Wednesday, November 14th and Thursday, November 15th after school in Señorita Danner’s Spanish room B201. Hope to see you there!

- Sunday, November 18, 2018 Salute the Troops Concert at NEMS – 3PM This is a concert for all after school vocal group members. We will meet at NE, wearing our white tops and black bottoms, at 1:30. Please see Mrs. Parker with any questions or concerns. The concert begins promptly at 3:00! Thank you for sharing your time and talent!
- SALUTE THE TROOPS CONCERT: The Salute the Troops Concert is coming! Students who are performing: if you wish to purchase tickets, be sure to see either Mr. Rupnik or Mrs. Parker for an order form. The tickets are available for $5. The cost will be $10 at the door. Be sure to order your tickets early!
- ART CLUB: Students in Mrs. Korhammer’s art club will meet Friday this week.
- STEP TEAM: Practice is only Wednesday this week bring boots or sneakers.
SPORTS:
- BOYS BASKETBALL: Attention 7th and 8th grade boys. Boy’s basketball tryouts will start Wednesday, November 14th. They will take place in the Main Gym from 3:15 to 5:00 pm. You MUST have your physical form completed in order to tryout. Physical forms are located in the Main Office.
- GIRLS BASKETBALL: Attention 7th and 8th grade girls. Mandatory Open Gym on Tuesday, November 13th, 3-5pm and Thursday, November 15th, 3-5pm. If you want to try out, you need to attend. Tryouts will be held Friday, November 16th, 3-5pm, Monday, November 19th, 11:30am-1:30pm, and Tuesday, November 20th, 11:30am-1:30pm. You MUST have your physical form completed in order to tryout. Physical forms are located in the Main Office. If you played a Fall sport, you and your parent or guardian only have to fill out sections 7 and 8. If you did not play a Fall sport, you will need to get a doctor’s physical plus fill out the form.
DROP OFF TABLE: Student Services has a drop off table. If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up. Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass. If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.
BOXTOPS: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Derrington or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.
