FOOD DRIVE: Attention all students and staff! Team Leaders Rock 2.0 is holding a food drive starting next week Monday, January 14, through Friday, January 18. Our goal is to help the homeless by donating to New Bethany Ministries. Please donate non-perishable items and bring them to your homeroom teacher. On Friday we will be around to each homeroom to collect the donations. Start off your new year by helping people in need. Thanks for your support!!!
NORTHEAST GOT TALENT SHOW: Northeast got talent finals night is THIS Friday at 6:30pm. Please come and cheer on your favorite contestants. You even get to vote on who you think should win. The tickets are $5.00 at the door. Hope your hungry!!! There will be lots of goodies like pretzels, lollipops, and baked goods. Show your school spirit and help support your Encore classes by attending. Remember, this is a fundraiser.
THEATRE COMPANY FUNDRAISER: Who’s hungry for a pancake breakfast? Northeast Middle School Theatre Company is serving a Pancake Breakfast at Tossi’s Tailgater’s Pub and Grill on Sunday, January 13th from 9-11 AM! For $6, you can enjoy pancakes, sausage, coffee, juice, and friendship! Please see Mrs. Parker for information and tickets. Proceeds from this fundraiser will help to support this year’s production of Lion King Jr.! Hope you can come and enjoy breakfast with us!
ACTIVITIES:
- CHESS CLUB: Our first meeting for winter chess club will be next Wednesday, January 9th. It will be held in Mr. Wynn’s classroom, A103. Please see Mr. Wynn for a permission slip if you are interested.
- KNITTING CLUB:Knitting Club will be starting up again on January 16th. Students of any grade level are welcome to check out this club to learn how to knit. See Miss Ayre in room A206 for a permission slip.
- ROBOTICS CLUB:Our end of Robotics Club party will be on January 9th in Mr. Gavronski’s room. If you plan on having Pizza, please bring your $3 in by January 8th. Pizza money can be dropped off to Mrs. Papagni in room B305 during homeroom. Please remember that club ends at 4:00 after the party.

- Friday, January 11, 2019 All after school vocal groups from 3:10-4:00…we’re getting ready for the All City concert in March!
- DRAMA FUNDRAISER: Please bring in your envelopes and ticket orders for this Sunday’s fundraiser at Tocci’s Tailgaters’ Pub and Grill to Tuesday’s rehearsal after school. We will also figure out who will be volunteering to serve the food as well – we’ll have a signup sheet ready to go. What half hour will you be willing to volunteer your time? Thanks for talking to your parents and figuring it all out!

- Thurs, Jan 10, – 3:10-5:00: Scene 3 (p. 18-24) -Grasslands, Mufasa, Young Simba, Zazu are to report to rehearsal in the chorus room
- Sat, Jan 12, 2019 – 9 AM-10 AM: Scene 8 (p. 67-70) Rafiki, Young Nala, Sarabi, Sarafina, Dancing Lionesses, Lionesses, Scar, Banzai, Shenzi, Ed are to report at 9 AM to the auditorium. 10 AM-noon on Saturday, January 12th: ALL Cast Scene 8 “The Stampede”
DROP OFF TABLE: Student Services has a drop off table. If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up. Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass. If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.
BOXTOPS: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Derrington or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.
