Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for this first full week of February. It is hard to believe that we are now in the 2nd semester of our school year and that our quarterly report card will be distributed to students on Tuesday, February 5th. Mark your calendars, as our Student Led Conferences for the 2nd quarter will be held the evening of February 14th. The scheduled time is 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Just a reminder for 8th grade parents that our 8th grade students will focus on the academic direction they are intending to take at Liberty High School. On Thursday the Liberty guidance counselors will be visiting our 8th grade classrooms to review the course selection process.
Keeping our calendar full, Northeast will again be participating in the All City Middle School Orchestra Concert on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. at Nitschmann Middle School. Practices for all of the orchestra performers will occur Tuesday and Wednesday mornings beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Nitschmann. On Friday our very own Officer Elias and his fellow Resource Officers will be holding their annual Valentine Formal at Liberty High School in their auxiliary gym. The dance begins at 7:00 p.m. and tickets must be purchased ahead of time.
On the hardwood this week our boys and girls finish up their regular season schedule playing Lower Macungie on Thursday. Our boys are at home and our girls are away. Please mark your calendars for the following Tuesday and Wednesday, February 12th and 13th; our boys and girls basketball teams will be playing in our district’s “Bethlehem” Playoffs. The four middle school boy’s teams will play here at Northeast on Tuesday and the girls will play at Nitschmann. The “Championships” are at Liberty on Wednesday. We will host a pep rally this Friday afternoon to cheer our basketball players on as they enter the playoffs. Have a great remainder to your Sunday and may the team you are cheering for win the Super Bowl!
