SCHOOL PHYSICALS: On Thursday morning March 7, 2019 school physical exams will be done in the nurse’s office. Most of the students involved are sixth graders and all students involved will have individual hall passes. Students: If you have any physical exam form, please deliver it to the nurse’s office now so we can update the schedule. While the physical exams are being done, the nurse’s office will be closed except to those students having physical exams and those requiring medications. Teachers: Please allow the students to come to the nurse’s office at the time on their pass. If there is an emergency, please call Student Services 42903.
SIXTH GRADE FUNDRAISER FOR NEW BETHANY MINISTRIES: 6th graders! The 3 on 3 Basketball tournament will finally happen! It will be held Friday the 8th of March during 8th and 9th periods in the main gym. If you would like to watch the game, please pay $1 to watch. If you have a team and did not pay, please make sure to bring your money in by Friday, March 1st. All donations are going to New Bethany Ministries. See you then.
SIXTH GRADE FUNDRAISER FOR ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL: Attention all sixth graders of Northeast Middle School! There will be an art and craft period for anyone who brings $3. The date will be announced soon. The activity will take place inside the classroom A211. Make sure to bring your money there. This event is to support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital that focuses their studies on helping children with cancer.
ACTIVITIES:
- CHESS CLUB: Chess Club Session 3 will begin on March 6th after school until 5:25 in room A103. If you are interested in joining chess club please see Mr. Wynn in A103.
- MATH NERDS: There was a mistake of the schedule that was handed out. We do not have math nerds on Friday, March 1. Math Nerds will be on Wednesdays only and the date that was on the schedule for today should have been May 1 which is a much later Wednesday. A new schedule with the date correction will be given out next Wednesday, March 6th when we meet
- RUNNING CLUB: Do you enjoy running? Do you want to stay in shape or get in shape for any summer sport teams? Well if you do then join the Northeast Running Club. We will meet by the Health room Monday and Wednesday from 3:05-4:10PM starting March 18th. Come meet Ms. Tandy and Ms. Ayre in room A106 on March 8th right after school to hear about the Running Club and pick up a permission form. All are welcomed. Hope to see you on the 8t
- WORLD LANGUAGE CLUB: We have a meeting TODAY, March 5th, after school in Mr. Wynn’s room A103. Hope to see you there!
- ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE CLUB: Slide shows will be presented on our last day which is March 11th during the party.
THE ARTS:
AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: The after school vocal groups schedule is as follows…hooray! It is time to get ready for All City Middle School Chorus! Please see Mrs. Parker with any questions or concerns. Please mark this on your calendar…the date for All City has been changed to an all day event on Tuesday, April 2nd…we’ll talk at rehearsal.
- Tues, March 5 – All after school vocal groups from 3:10-4pm
- Thurs, March 7 – All after school vocal groups from 3:10-4pm
- Sat, March 9 – All after school vocal groups – All City rehearsal from 9:00-12pm
ATHLETICS:
- LIBERTY CHEERLEADING- UPDATE: Attention 8th graders! 8th graders interested in Liberty High School cheerleading due to conflict with upcoming doctor’s appointments. The meeting is changed to Monday, March 11 right after school. Meet in the Health room. If you have any questions please see Mr. Korcienski in room A107.
- SOCCER: Attention all Northeast Soccer Players, there will be ONLY one Open Gym for Soccer before tryouts. The Open Gym is not mandatory, but will help your chances in making the team. The Open Gym will be in the Main Gym after school on Wednesday March 6th until 4:30pm. See you then!
DROP OFF TABLE: Student Services has a drop off table. If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up. Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass. If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.
BOXTOPS: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Derrington or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you. Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.
