SIXTH GRADE FUNDRAISER FOR ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL: Attention all sixth graders of Northeast Middle School! There will be an art and craft period for anyone who brings $3. The date will be announced soon. The activity will take place inside the classroom A211. Make sure to bring your money there. This event is to support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital that focuses their studies on helping children with cancer.
ACTIVITIES:
- MATH NERDS:Attention all students interested in joining Math Nerds. Math Nerds is an interactive club that meets every Wednesday in Mr. Sonntag’s room, A305. We complete brain teasers and have lots of fun while being simultaneously frustrated. Come to Math Nerds and get challenged! Permission slips are available and students can join any time.
- RUNNING CLUB: Do you enjoy running? Do you want to stay in shape or get in shape for any summer sport teams? Well if you do then join the Northeast Running Club. We will meet by the Health room Monday and Wednesday from 3:05-4:10PM starting March 18th. Come meet Ms. Tandy and Ms. Ayre in room A106 on March 8th right after school to hear about the Running Club and pick up a permission form. All are welcomed. Hope to see you on the 8th.
- ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE CLUB: This Friday, March 8th will be our final zombie run so wear sneakers. Our end of club party will be on Monday, March 11th. You must bring a treat to share and be prepared to present your slideshow presentation on your virus in order to attend the party. If your presentation is not complete, please work on it before Monday so you can attend.
THE ARTS:
AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: The after school vocal groups schedule is as follows…hooray! It is time to get ready for All City Middle School Chorus! Please see Mrs. Parker with any questions or concerns. Please mark this on your calendar…the date for All City has been changed to an all day event on Tuesday, April 2nd…we’ll talk at rehearsal.

ATHLETICS:
- LIBERTY CHEERLEADING- UPDATE: Attention 8th graders! 8th graders interested in Liberty High School cheerleading due to conflict with upcoming doctor’s appointments. The meeting is changed to Monday, March 11 right after school. Meet in the Health room. If you have any questions please see Mr. Korcienski in room A107.
- NORTHEAST CHEERLEADING: Cheer Tryouts for next year will begin on April 10th in the Main Gym from 3:30-5:30. All upcoming 7th and 8th graders welcome to tryout!
DROP OFF TABLE: Student Services has a drop off table. If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up. Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass. If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.
BOXTOPS: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Derrington or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.
