EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS: Be sure to see Mr. Reiss in Room A304 with your group for the Washington, D.C. trip. Stop in during Homeroom, during Activity Period, or after school. JUNIOR POLICE ACADEMY: If you’re interested in Law Enforcement and public service, consider attending the Bethlehem Police Junior Police Academy. Cadets will be required to attend the Academy every weekday for a 2 week period. The Academy runs from June 10 thru June 21. Speak with officer Elias for more details and to pick up an application.
PROUD POUND REDEMPTIONS: 7th and 8th grade students may turn in their Proud Pounds May 8th during homeroom at the school store. 6th grade students may turn in their Proud Pounds Thursday morning during homeroom at the school store. The final day to turn in Proud Pounds for all students is May 15th during lunch. Please bring your Proud Pounds to lunch on May 15th.
ACTIVITIES:
- DISC GOLF: Today, May 8th, we will depart for South Mountain Disc Golf Course at 1:45 and return to school at 4:30. Details will be provided at Tuesday’s meeting. See you there!
- MATH NERDS: Attention all math nerds or wanna-be nerds. We have two more days left to have fun with frustration. If you would like to join us for a good time with brain teasers and puzzles come to Mr. Sonntag’s room, A305, on Wednesdays. We meet from 3:05 – 4:25pm. We will meet 8th, and 15th. ATHLETICS:
- SOCCER: Today everyone is welcome to watch after school the Faculty Teachers play against the Soccer Team at 3:30 until 4:00. Rumor has it that Mr. Sawicki is suiting up to be goalie and Officer Elias will be strapping on his cleats for a game against the Northeast Soccer Team. Come on out and have a good time!
The Northeast Soccer Team were unable to pull a win against East Hills on Monday this week. They will try to get back in win column this week on two more away games with Bethlehem Catholic and Nitschmann Middle School.
*Please come out Monday Night on May 13th at 6:30pm at Liberty High School. The Soccer team will play under the lights at Liberty High School to battle against East Hills or Nitschmann Middle School for a possible City Championship. Come out and cheer on our Green Hornets Monday May 13th. The game will start at 6:30pm. Concession stands will be open, so please bring money. Go Hornets!
*The Northeast Soccer Team must remember to wash their jerseys and shorts Monday night and bring them for the Soccer Team Pizza Party. In order to enjoy the snacks and pizza party, they must…MUST, bring their jerseys and shorts clean after school to Coach Spieker. Please be there for special recognitions and awards to be given out
- SOFTBALL: The Lady Hornets Softball Team ended their regular season on a high note yesterday, beating Allen 17-1 in 3 innings. Molly Devers, Miya Williams, Leslie Padilla, Gabby Diaz, and Natiya Natal all had multiple hits for the Lady Hornets, and Miya Williams pitched well. The team wraps up their season today, playing rival Broughal in the district tournament at Freedom at 3:30pm.
DROP OFF TABLE: Student Services has a drop off table. If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up. Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass. If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.
BOXTOPS: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Derrington or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.
