ATHLETIC WEAR: Last week you received an order form for Northeast Athletic Wear. Please make sure you share that with your parents. All orders are due on Friday, 10/4/19. Please give them to your homeroom teacher or you can give them to Mr. Korcienski in room A107.
BANANA FACTORY: Banana Factory will start this Monday, 9/30/2019 for those students who received an acceptance notice. We will meet in room A200 at 3:10pm to do homework. Please make sure that you bring an SSR book with you for when you are done with your homework. The bus will be picking us up at Northeast for the Banana Factory at about 4:15pm and we will return to Northeast at 6:00pm.
COPS N KIDS: Cops N Kids Book Drive. Leaders Rock 2.0 is having a Cops N Kids book drive for the next two weeks. We need as many books as we can get! All grades are welcome to donate! Turn your books in to your homeroom teacher. Whichever homeroom brings in the most books will receive a prize! Thank you for helping Cops N Kids!
DINE & DONATE: The athletic department would also like to remind you that we will be doing a Dine and Donate at PJ Whelihan’s on Thursday, October 3, 2019. Flyers will be distributed to homerooms by the end of this week. Please come out and support our student athletes. Any questions see Ms. Coulter or Mr. Korceinski.
SCHOOL STORE: The school store will be open for business during activity periods from 8:30-9:00am. We have many items for purchase, from pencils, pens, erasers, to key chains and locker accessories. When you are ready to join the PROUD society, be sure to bring your completed application along with your 7 proud pounds. Please request to come down promptly after activity period begins. ACTIVITIES
- ARCHERY: Attention all beginner and advanced archers: Advanced archery has begun. Most of you have gotten your permission slips from Mrs. Papagni already, but if you haven’t please make sure you see her to pick it up. A reminder to the beginner archers that October 20th and October 27th are mandatory days for archery because of the safety lesson requirement.
- DISC GOLF CLUB: Attention disc golfers: our next meeting will be on Monday, September 30th after school until 5:25pm. We will meet in Mr. Wynn’s room, A103. See you then!
- FANTASY SPORTS TALK CLUB: Do you love football? Do you play fantasy sports? Join the Fantasy Sports Talk club: and look at numbers behind your football team, talk to Podcasters from different football websites, and, of course, talk about Football. Get in the game!
- GOLF CLUB: Attention ALL NEMS students! Do you want to learn the greatest game of all time? A NEW golf club, coached by Mrs. Novak and Miss Hefele, is forming, and it is open to boys and girls in ALL grades-6th, 7th, and 8th graders. A field trip to Lehigh Golf Center will be the reward for 5 weeks of fun. Of course, you will earn a proud pound for 100% participation. Space is limited!
- SOFTBALL SKILLS CLUB: The first meeting of Softball Skills club will be September 30th. Girls may use the locker room to change and then they should meet outside on the softball field.
- STUDENT LEADERSHIP: Student Leadership is starting soon! Do you consider yourself to be a leader? Are you well-behaved? Do you make us NE PROUD? If you would like to be apart of Student Leadership, talk with your homeroom teacher to sign up! We will be meeting on Day 4 during activity period! Hope to see you there!
ARTS
- DANCE & STEP TEAM: Attention students interested in dance team and step team! -Mr. Huie will be having auditions for Step Team on MONDAY, September 30th, from 3-4pm. (This is part 1.) For Dance Team, Mr. Huie will be having auditions for dance team on WEDNESDAY, October 2nd, from 3-4pm. (This is part 1.) For both of these try outs, if you bring your own routine, it is like extra credit. If there are any questions, see Mr. Huie.
- WORLD PERCUSSION: Hello, eighth graders! There are going to be auditions for the drumming group known as the World Percussion Ensemble. See Mr. Huie as soon as possible if you are interested in trying out for the group!
ATHLETICS
- CROSS COUNTRY: It started off as a drizzly meet at Lower Macungie for the Hornets. Juan Cruz And Gus Bresswein had a strong sprint to the finish. Vanessa Rodriguez gave it her all to cross the finish. Awesome job team!
DISMISSAL: Students please note that you are not permitted to remain in the building after dismissal unless you are involved in an activity. If you are waiting for a friend, please wait outside of the building.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you. Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.
