Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for this week starting with President’s Day.
We start out this week in school by celebrating our second quarter honor roll students with a bowling trip to Town and Country on Tuesday for 6th grade plus Team World Explorers and Wednesday for Team Innovate and 8th grade. Tuesday is a special day for our 6th and 7th grade students as well, because it will be the first day the students will be taking home their Chromebooks. As mentioned in the “Shout Out” last week we are very excited the district is allowing us this privilege, and we anticipate this will greatly help our children be more successful with their school work. Be sure to check with your child and ask to see the 3 important documents that are being sent home with the computers. The one document outlines important information about the EMPOWER initiative along with information as to where to locate additional resources. A second document outlines businesses and organizations within our community where students can access free WIFI and the third document references Securranty, a company the district contracts with to provide insurance coverage for the devices. We strongly encourage parents to check our district website and reference all of the resources regarding our districts EMPOWER initiative which can be found under the tab for parents. If you have questions you wish to have answered personally, please join our Northeast Parent/Teacher Organization meeting on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. The Band Parent Organization meeting immediately follows NEPTO in the band room.
Also, on Wednesday we need everyone’s support to vote for 8th grade’s “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing” video featuring Nestle Water. The link for voting is on the Northeast website. Voting starts on Wednesday, February 19th and goes until Friday the 21st. You can vote as many times as you would like. Thank you for your help!
Have a most relaxing remainder to your holiday weekend. We look forward to seeing all the children back at school on Tuesday.
