THOUGHT OF THE DAY: We’ve all heard the old saying: Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me. What do you think, words can harm you? You bet they can! It isn’t always adults who are abusing children with ugly comments. Young people abuse other young people with unkind words, and it does hurt. Today, remember the Vietnamese proverb: Nice words are free, so choose words that please another’s ears. It doesn’t cost anything to speak kindly to others, but we all pay a high price when we verbally abuse one another.
BREAKFAST: Attention all students: The cafeteria is now serving free breakfast and lunch meals for all students every day until the end of December. You heard that right… free breakfast and lunch meals! All students automatically qualify and no form needs to be submitted. Take advantage of this program and join us in the cafeteria for your free breakfast and lunch each day that you are in school.
LUNCH: Students can drop off money for deposit in the morning to the breakfast cashier or Mrs. Cabrera. The money or check must be in an envelope with the student’s name and ID number. All funds will be deposited onto student accounts after the breakfast service. Cashiers will not accept cash during lunch.”
SAFE: It’s SAFE to Tell. The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. It’s now safer and easier to tell: just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find ONLINE in your guidance counselor’s resources folder. Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.” Thanks for being AWESOME!
