THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Marian Wright Edelman is the founder of the Children’s Defense Fund. She has fought for the rights of all children, regardless of their color, race, or religion. She says: All children are essential to America’s future. We don’t have a child to waste. We will not be a strong country unless we invest in every one of our children. Sounds like shes on your side. The truth is, there are people right here in our school who are on your side, who care about you and want to see you succeed. You have teachers who care. You have counselors who care. That’s why they are here. They care. You see… they understand the truth of what Ms. Edelman is saying: YOU are necessary to America’s future. We can’t afford to waste any of your special talents and abilities. Today, remember if you win the game of life, we all win!
BREAKFAST: Attention all students: The cafeteria is now serving free breakfast and lunch meals for all students every day until the end of December. You heard that right… free breakfast and lunch meals! All students automatically qualify and no form needs to be submitted. Take advantage of this program and join us in the cafeteria for your free breakfast and lunch each day that you are in school.
LUNCH: Students can drop off money for deposit in the morning to the breakfast cashier or Mrs. Cabrera. The money or check must be in an envelope with the student’s name and ID number. All funds will be deposited onto student accounts after the breakfast service. Cashiers will not accept cash during lunch.”
SAFE: It’s SAFE to Tell. The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. It’s now safer and easier to tell: just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find ONLINE in your guidance counselor’s resources folder. Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.” Thanks for being AWESOME!
