GIRLS SOFTBALL: Our lady Hornets softball team played a tough game against Northampton last Thursday. Addy Smith pitched a great game with multiple strikeouts. Ellie Rumbalski had a great line drive to the outfield, and our defense was strong. Briana Ramos made a great catch at third base and Kaelyn Rios made an awesome play at second. Great job ladies! Our Lady Hornets have a home game Monday against Nitschmann. Come out and support our Hornets!

READING OLYMPICS: Congratulations to the 2021 Northeast  Reading Olympics team, the masterminds behind a round two victory. Zoe Toledo, Justin Park, and Casey Huie were lightning quick with their recall of facts from 25  challenging novels. It was a tough competition, and they gave it their all. Great job!

TALENT SHOW: Mr Huie is starting to think about the talent show! It’s an end-of-the-year tradition. This year it will be virtual, though. Think about an act that you can do! Playing in a band, rapping, dancing,  martial arts, Rubik’s cube, etc. – show off your talent! Any questions, see Mr. Huie!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Have you noticed how much bad language there is in the movies, in videos, and in music? Back in the olden days, when your parents and teachers were teenagers you never heard bad language on TV or on the radio or in the movies. It was considered offensive. In other words, hearing a lot of cursing and bad language upset most people. Now listen to these ancient words of wisdom: Speech is the mirror of the soul; as a man speaks, so is he. In other words, the words we speak are a reflection of who we are. It makes you  think, doesn’t it? Today, if you hear bad language, think about what the words are really saying about the person using them. And if you catch yourself using bad language, ask yourself this: Am I the words I speak?

LUNCH: Do you bring your lunch from home? If you do, you can add a fruit, veggie and milk for free!!! That’s right! You can jazz up your lunch in the cafeteria with a fruit, veggie and milk for free if you bring your lunch from home. Bon  appetit!!

SAFE: It’s SAFE to Tell. The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. It’s now safer and easier to tell: just fill out the SAFE to Tell  form which you can find ONLINE in your  guidance counselor’s resources folder. Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.” Thanks for being AWESOME!

DISMISSAL: Students please note that you are not permitted to remain in the building after dismissal unless you are involved in an activity. If you are waiting for a friend please  wait outside the building.

WATER FOUNTAINS: Water fountains are only to be used to fill up water bottles and not to be used for getting drinks. Students are allowed to bring a water bottle with them every day and are encouraged to do so!
