SOCCER: It was a tough and dreary day with a little wind and cloudy skies. The Northeast Soccer team were in dire straits. Missing a couple of key players, the Hornets were down to a low sub count and were facing a powerhouse of a soccer team called the Zephyrs. The last time they played them, we lost 8 to 1. But the Northeast Soccer team was up for a fight. With Finn Houle and Casey Huie starting in the goal for half the game, they made save after save after save! The defense were battling each of Whitehall’s top scorers,
but kept them at bay! Jaylynn Holdermann, Levi Carolan, and Shem Mokaya all helped with defending! Donoban Morales was our Keep Sweeper that made clear after clear. The Hornets were down 0-1 at Halftime! With the Northeast Band and Percussions Group
supporting the team, the Hornets were able to play hard in they second half! In fact, Levi Carolan was able to make a throw in Assist to Finn Houle who scored our goal. The rain started to come down and the game was staying close; however, The Zephers proved to barely pass Northeast and won 3 to 1. What a great defensive match! Congrats to the Northeast Soccer team. Coach Spieker will be making his homemade donuts for you! Good job Northeast soccer team! Come out and support the The Soccer team’s last game against Nitschmann Middle School This Wednesday at 4pm. It is at Nitschmann. Go Hornets!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: A man’s manners are a mirror in which he shows his portrait. In other words, our manners reveal something about ourselves. So what’s so important about being well mannered anyway? It’s simple really. When we are well-mannered, we are courteous to others, and when we are courteous to others, we avoid hurting people’s feelings. When we avoid hurting others we create a little less pain in the world. Today let’s remember these words of great American writer Ralph Waldo Emerson, Fine manners need the support of fine manners. In other words, do you tease other students who are well-mannered? If you do, ask yourself who the real nerd is- the one who’s being thoughtful or the one who’s being hurtful?
LUNCH: Do you bring your lunch from home? If you do, you can add a fruit, veggie and milk for free!!! That’s right! You can jazz up your lunch in the cafeteria with a fruit, veggie and milk for free if you bring your lunch from home. Bon appetit!!
SAFE: It’s SAFE to Tell. The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. It’s now safer and easier to tell: just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find ONLINE in your guidance counselor’s resources folder. Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.” Thanks for being AWESOME!
