NORTHEAST WALKATON: Students, have you made your online account to fundraise for the Walkathon?  Remember to scan your QR code and make your account. We will have a raffle for an Amazon gift card for anyone that creates an online FundHub account. Also, if your class has the most money raised at the end of week 1, some donuts are coming your way!  So make your account and text or share it today!

ACTIVITIES

  • 8th GRADE HOMEWORK CLUB: If you are in 8th grade and need help with your assignments, consider coming to Homework Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mrs. Papagni’s room in B305. Please look at your mid-quarter grades because there is plenty of time to work on raising averages before the quarter ends. If you would like a quiet place to work, assistance with confusing assignments, study for a test, and even get a snack, please come to Homework Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room B305.
  • AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: Wednesday, October 20 – 3:15 – Girls Group is meeting; there is no Girls Barbershop at 4:15 on Wednesday
  • CHESS CLUB will meet on Thursday, October 28th in Mr. Wynn’s classroom after school.
  • CHORUS: Due to today’s Pep Rally, there will be no chorus during Hornet Block.  Thank you for your flexibility. See you next Day One!
  • DISC GOLF CLUB will meet next Monday, October 25th in Mr. Wynn’s classroom.
  • FRENCH CLUB: The next French Club meeting will be Wednesday, October 27 right after school in room B202. See you there!
  • GUITAR CHORDS 101 will meet Thursday and Friday from 3:15-4:30.  See you then!
  • LACROSSE: Do you want to learn how to play the fastest game on two feet called Lacrosse? Well here is your opportunity. Both girls and boys in grades 6, 7 & 8 are invited to come out and play lacrosse next Wednesday, October 27th after school from 3:00-4:30. You can learn as well as play. We have sticks, equipment and coaches to help you get started. So come out next Wednesday and have some fun learning a new sport called Lacrosse with your friends. No experience needed. Please see Mr. Flok in room B-201 for more information. Go Hornets!
  • MUSICAL: Auditions for the musical Sister Act Jr. will be held October 25th and 26th in the auditorium from 3:15-6:00. See Mrs. Parker with any questions. Do you need the information packet? See Mrs. Parker ASAP! Those who are auditioning should remember to bring their packets. Please remember to wear sneakers so that you can dance. You do NOT have to memorize any of the sides or the vocal auditions. Bring your “A game” to auditions!
  • NEW AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS! Join ArtSmart which has already started, or PBS MediaLab, starting Today, to hone your art skills! ArtSmart will be a 7-week art sampler program. PBS MediaLab is a film and media education program that will teach you skills you need to shoot short films. You can find out more information on the Community School Outreach group on Schoology or stop in to talk to Mrs. Bush in Student Services for more information. Each class is limited to 10 students, so sign up right away!

ATHLETICS

  • BOYS BASKETBALL: Attention 7th and 8th grade boys. There will be a boys basketball open gym on Friday, 10/22 from 3:15-4:15pm in the main gym. You must have sneakers and shorts to play. See Coach Carlstrom in D106 if you have any questions.
