AFTERSCHOOL CLUBSFRIDAYS: Archery Club 

LOST & FOUNDThe Lost and Found closet is located in Student Services. If you have lost something, please come to Student Services to check the closet. If it is a valuable item, please ask Ms. Osorio if it has been turned in. Any items not claimed, will be donated. 

WALKATHONWE ARE HAVING A WALKATHON ON FRIDAY APRIL 28 FOR only TWO DOLLARS! The walkathon is for 6th grade during 5th period after lunch. There will be free water. IF you want a relaxing break from PSSAs and walk outside with friends, “BRING TWO DOLLARS ON FRIDAY APRIL 28!”* ALL MONEY GOES TO CHARITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

FOOTBALLAttention all 6th & 7th Grade Football Players – The After School Meeting for Football for new students interested has been moved from Thursday April 27th to this Friday April 28th @ Cafeteria. The meeting will last about 30 minutes after school. If you have any questions, please email or see Mr. Spieker in room A208. Please complete the Google Form on Schoology or from Morning Announcements. 

INSTRUMENT DONATIONSDo you or your family have instruments that aren’t being used? We need instruments and cases! Please donate the instruments and cases in the office where they will be picked up and shipped out in the district to schools around us! 100% of the donations stay in the district. We need Woodwinds, Brass, and Strings but all instruments are accepted. Again, please donate all instruments to the office where they will be picked up. All gently used instruments or cases just laying around should be donated to the office in your school. Donate today!

MAJORETTESWE WILL BE HAVING MAJORETTE PRACTICES FOR INTERESTED NORTHEAST STUDENTS FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR ON MAY 15, 16, AND 17, 2023 FROM 6-8PM. TRYOUTS WILL TAKE PLACE ON MAY 22, 2023 FROM 6-8PM. PRACTICES AND TRYOUTS WILL TAKE PLACE AT NORTHEAST MIDDLE SCHOOL AND WE WILL MEET IN THE BANDROOM. STUDENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN TRYING OUT FOR MAJORETTES SHOULD EMAIL ME AT LGARZA@BASDSCHOOLS.ORG. STUDENTS SHOULD PICK UP A STUDENT INFORMATION FORM IN THE BAND ROOM. 

IN ADDITION, WE ALSO WANT TO INVITE INTERESTED NORTHEAST STUDENTS FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR TO BE A MEMBER OF THE COLOR GUARD. SPOTS ARE LIMITED SO WE ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO EXPRESS INTEREST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THERE IS NO TRYOUT FOR COLOR GUARD. STUDENTS SHOULD JUST SIMPLY EMAIL ME AT LGARZA@BASDSCHOOLS.ORG TO LET ME KNOW THEY ARE INTERESTED. 

FUNDRAISERTHERE WILL BE TWO CAR WASH FUNDRAISERS AT NORTHEAST MIDDLE SCHOOL TO SUPPORT THE PROUD-A-THON AND FUTURE PROUD SOCIETY EVENTS. THE CAR WASHES WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 29TH FROM 10 – 12PM AND ON MAY 10TH AFTER SCHOOL FROM 4 – 6PM. TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT ALL LUNCHES ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY THIS WEEK. CAR WASHES MAY ALSO BE PURCHASED ON THE SAME DAY AT THE EVENT. PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE NE COMMUNITY AND THE PROUD SOCIETY AT THIS FUNDRAISING EVENT! 

SPORTS:

SOCCER: HE SOCCER TEAM TRAVELED ACROSS THE LEHIGH VALLEY TO PLAY AGAINST HARRISON-MORTON MIDDLE SCHOOL. THE SOCCER TEAM WAS POISED TO UNLEASH AN ONSLAUGHT OF OFFENSIVE POWER AGAINST THE ALLENTOWN TEAM. ALTHOUGH THE HORNETS WERE CONTROLLING THE POSSESSION BATTLE IN THE FIRST HALF, THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET A BALL ON NET. IT WAS TIED ZERO TO ZERO AT HALFTIME. ISSAC DE OLIVEIRA WAS SOLID AT SWEEPER! HE WAS LIKE A HUMAN VACUUM CLEANER TAKING AWAY ANY CHANCE FOR HARRISON-MORTON TO SCORE. IN THE SECOND HALF, MORILO VIEIRA AND CASH PAULUS EACH HAD A GOAL. ISSAC GARCIA HAD A HAT TRICK WITH THREE GOALS. JOSE PEREIRA, GABRIEL JIMENEZ, ELIZABETH MCCLARIN, AND VICTOR RODRIGUEZ BATTLED IN THE SECOND HALF. THE SOCCER TEAM WON WITH A FINAL SCORE 5 TO ZERO.

SOFTBALL: YESTERDAY THE LADY HORNETS WON A TOUGH GAME AGAINST ALLEN. KAYLA CUMMINGS WAS DYNAMITE BEHIND THE PLATE AND HAD SEVERAL HITS. MADDIE ROY HAD TWO DOUBLE PLAYS AND ERYKA ADAMS HAD A GREAT HIT. NICE WORK, LADIES. COME OUT AND SUPPORT YOUR HORNETS NEXT THURSDAY FOR THEIR LAST GAME, HERE AT OUR FIELD.” 

TRACK & FIELD: 8TH GRADE BASD MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD COMPETITION IS OPEN. DO YOU LIKE TO RUN? DO YOU LIKE TO WATCH THE OLYMPICS? DO YOU THINK YOU HAVEWHAT IT TAKES TO COMPETE AGAINST NITSCHMANN, BROUGHAL, AND EAST HILLS? THE 8TH GRADE BASD MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD COMPETITION WILL BE HELD@ LIBERTY FIELD THURSDAY JUNE 1ST FROM 9AM – 12:30PM. THERE WILL BE AN 8TH GRADE MEETING & PRESENTATION IN THE AUDITORIUM TUESDAY MAY 2ND TO TALK MORE ABOUT TRACK & FIELD. FIRST PRACTICE WILL BE AFTER SCHOOL WEDNESDAY MAY 3RD. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE RECEIVE A TRACK AND FIELD INTRAMURAL PERMISSION FORM MR.
