LOST & FOUNDThe Lost and Found closet is located in Student Services. If you have lost something, please come to Student Services to check the closet. If it is a valuable item, please ask Ms. Osorio if it has been turned in. Any items not claimed, will be donated. 

AFTERSCHOOL CLUBSMONDAYS: High Ground Training 

MAJORETTES: Tryouts will take place on May 22, 2023 from 6-8pm. Practices and tryouts will take place at Northeast Middle School and we will meet in the Band room. Students who are interested in trying out for Majorettes should email me at lgarza@basdschools.org Students should pick up a student information form in the band room. In addition, we also want to invite interested Northeast students for the 2023-2024 school year to be a member of the Color Guard. Spots are limited so we encourage students to express interest as soon as possible. There is no tryout for Color Guard. Students should just simply email me at lgarza@basdschools.org to let me know they are interested. 

JUNIOR POLICE ACADEMYThe City of Bethlehem Police Department is taking applications for the summer Junior Police Academy. If you are interested, please stop by Student Services for an application. The program will run from June 12 – 23, 2023 at Liberty High School from 8am-3pm Monday – Friday. 

TALENT SHOWStudents! The talent show is almost here! The talent show is on the last day of school. Mr Huie is looking for students that like to wrap, sing, dance, gymnastics, any kind of town! Remember, if you are a singer or a rapper, you need to use the karaoke version of the song, not the actual song. Auditions will be on Tuesday May 23rd after school. They will be in the auditorium. This is open to every student to try out for. See Mr Huie for any questions!

SPORTS*ATTENTION ANY 6TH OR 7TH GRADE GIRLS INTERESTED IN PLAYING FIELD HOCKEY NEXT YEAR: THERE WILL BE AN INTEREST MEETING IN THE CAFETERIA RIGHT AFTER SCHOOL ON MAY 24TH. ANY QUESTIONS, TALK TO COACH RINALDI IN A212. 

*ATTENTION 6TH & 7TH GIRLS INTERESTED IN PLAYING VOLLEYBALL IN THE FALL. WE WILL HAVE A MEETING ON MAY 24TH AFTER SCHOOL IN THE MAIN GYM. PLEASE COMPLETE INTEREST GOOGLE FORM. 

*SPRING SPORTS BANQUET MAY 24TH 5PM – 6:00PM. ATTENTION ALL SPRING SPORTS ATHLETES. THE NORTHEAST MS SPRING SPORTS BANQUET WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY MAY 24TH 5PM TO 6:00PM. PLEASE SEE YOUR COACHES OR MR. SPIEKER OR COACH RINALDI FOR YOUR FAMILY TICKET. IF YOU ARE ATTENDING, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR GUARDIAN COMPLETE THE GOOGLE FORM LINK ON THE TICKET. 

*ATTENTION ALL THOSE 6TH AND 7TH GRADERS INTERESTED ON CHEERING NEXT SCHOOL YEAR FOR NORTHEAST! THERE WILL BE AN INTEREST MEETING AFTER SCHOOL IN THE CAFETERIA ON TUESDAY MAY 30TH. IT WILL BE SHORT AND LAST NO LONGER THAN 20 MINUTES. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT PLEASE SEE OR EMAIL COACH HITTINGER. 

*ATTENTION 6TH AND 7TH GRADERS, JOIN THE CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING TEAM! DO YOU LIKE TO RUN? DO YOU THINK YOU’RE FAST? DO YOU LIKE HANGING OUT WITH OTHER STUDENTS? THEN THE CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING TEAM IS FOR YOU! COME TO A SHORT INTEREST MEETING ON TUESDAY, MAY 30TH AFTER SCHOOL IN THE CAFETERIA. IT WILL BE UNTIL 3:30PM. NORTHEAST CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING IS OPEN TO NEXT YEAR’S 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE! SEE COACH HUIE OR COACH TANDY FOR ANY QUESTIONS!

ART – 6TH GRADERSATTENTION 6TH GRADERS! DO YOU LOVE ARTS AND CRAFTS? PLEASE JOIN US NEXT WEDNESDAY, MAY 24TH DURING 8TH PERIOD! IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN SOME FUN ARTS AND CRAFTS, DONATE $2 TO YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER BY WEDNESDAY, MAY 24TH. YOU WILL BE GIVEN A TICKET TO ENTER! WE WILL SEE YOU NEXT WEDNESDAY DURING 8TH PERIOD! DONATE TODAY! 

ATTENTION 6TH GRADERS! DO YOU LIKE ARTS AND CRAFTS? DONATE $2 TO YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER AND YOU CAN JOIN US IN THE CAFETERIA ON TUESDAY, MAY 30TH DURING 8TH PERIOD. ALL DONATIONS WILL GO TO THE ELEMENTARY ART TEACHERS. DONATE $2 AND WE WILL SEE YOU FOR SOME CRAFTS ON MAY 30TH! 

CONGRATSCONGRATULATIONS TO THE NORTHEAST BAND, ORCHESTRA AND JAZZ ENSEMBLE ON THEIR SPRING MUSIC TRIP TO PITTSBURGH, PA THIS PAST WEEKEND. THE GROUPS COMPETED IN A “MUSIC IN THE PARKS” FESTIVAL AT NORWIN HIGH SCHOOL ON SATURDAY. THE MARCHING BAND RECEIVED A FIRST PLACE GOOD RATING, THE ORCHESTRA RECEIVED A FIRST PLACE GOOD RATING, THE JAZZ ENSEMBLE RECEIVED A FIRST PLACE EXCELLENT RATING AND THE CONCERT BAND RECEIVED A FIRST PLACE EXCELLENT RATING. THE CONCERT BAND ALSO RECEIVED THE OVERALL CONCERT BAND TROPHY FOR RECEIVING THE HIGHEST SCORE OUT OF THE 3 CONCERT BANDS THAT COMPETED. EIGHTH GRADE STUDENT, CHRISTIAN HACKETT RECEIVED THE OVERALL JAZZ SOLOIST AWARD FOR HIS SOLO PERFORMANCE ON BLUE AND SENTIMENTAL. AND TO TOP OFF THE DAY, THE NORTHEAST MIDDLE SCHOOL INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC GROUPS COLLECTIVELY WERE AWARDED THE VERY PRESTIGIOUS ESPRIT DE CORPS AWARD. ACCORDING TO THE MUSIC IN THE PARKS FESTIVAL, “THE ESPRIT DE CORPS AWARD RECOGNIZES THE PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATION THAT DISPLAYS AN EXEMPLARY ATTITUDE OF POSITIVE SUPPORT AND OUTSTANDING PERSONAL BEHAVIOR THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVAL WEEKEND. PERSONAL INTEGRITY, QUALITY CHARACTER VALUES, A DESIRE FOR EXCELLENCE, AND A SPIRIT OF COOPERATION SERVE AS THE CORNERSTONE QUALITIES OF THE ESPRIT DE CORPS AWARD.” ALL OF THE STUDENTS THAT PARTICIPATED ARE TO BE APPLAUDED FOR THEIR HARD WORK, DEDICATION, AND FOR REPRESENTING OUR SCHOOL AND DISTRICT SO WELL. CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE!!
