BOXTOPS Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Swavely or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.
DISMISSAL: Students please note that you are not permitted to remain in the building after dismissal unless you are involved in an activity. If you are waiting for a friend, please wait outside of the building.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you. BASD PROUD: We have decided to display BASD spirit across the Lehigh Valley with #BASDproud car magnets. Our goal is for parents, students, teachers and staff to make a visible statement of support by displaying the magnets on their cars. Magnets can be purchased for $2 at the main office of each of our schools as well as at the Ed Center.
ART: All 8th graders who still have not picked up their paper mache shark from Mrs. Klose’s art room, please do so this week. Thanks to all of you who stopped by for them yesterday afternoon.
STEP TEAM:Step team will practice on every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:05-4:15pm. Remember boots or sneakers and your permission form.
MUSIC IN THE PARKS TRIP: Northeast Singers students who are not instrumentalists are to pick up their fundraising information from Mrs. Parker ASAP. This fundraising will help towards this year’s Music in the Parks competition.
SALUTE THE TROOPS CONCERT: All NE Singers, Boys Group, Girls Group, and instrumental students performing in the Salute the Troops Concert on November 13th are reminded to pick up a ticket order form ASAP. The ticket order form, paid with cash only, please, is due on November 3rd. Our reduced price is $5 per ticket. If you purchase these tickets at the door the day of the concert, they will be $10. Don’t forget to get your order form submitted! See either Mr. Rupnik or Mrs. Parker with any questions.
NEMS THEATRE COMPANY: Congratulations and thanks to the 80 students who auditioned for this year’s musical Music Man Jr. Your talents make us all Northeast Proud! Our first rehearsal will be on Monday, October 31st from 3:10 until 5:30 in the chorus room. This will be a read through of the entire musical…see you then!

MATH NERDS: Do you enjoy brainteasers? Would you like to make words like quirkle, rebus, saduko, q-bits and swish part of your every day conversations? Then join math nerds and brain bashers. Math Nerds and Brain Bashers is an interactive club that meets every Wednesday from 3:05-4:25pm in Room A305.

SPORTS: Cross Country runners who have yet to hand in uniform should return it to Miss Ayre’s room A203 asap. Thanks.
Any field hockey or volleyball player that has not returned their uniform please bring it to Ms. Shive’s, A305 as soon as possible.
*St. Luke’s Middle School Fitness Program sign up sheets are in the main office and student services. The Kick Off Meeting will be Wednesday, November 2ndafter school in the cafeteria. If you like kickball and ultimate frisbee, this program is for you.
*Free physicals for winter sports will be given at Freedom High School on Wednesday, November 2nd from 5 – 7:30 PM, and at Liberty High School on Thursday, November 3rd from 5 – 7:30 PM. Get a physical packet from a basketball coach or the main office before you go. You may not try out without a physical.
8th grade boy’s basketball. There will be an open gym for the 8th grade boys ONLY this Friday, 11/4 from 3:15 to 4:30. This is for 8th grade only. A 7th grade open gym will be announced the following week. See Coach Carlstrom in room 106 if you have any questions.
SPIRIT WEEK: With the night football game rapidly approaching, it only means one thing, “Spirit Week!” Spirit Week will take place next week! The following are the special days:
-Tuesday – Sport Team Day – show your team colors whether it is a middle school, high school, college or pro team, get out your gear!
-Wednesday – back by popular demand Pajama Day! Wear your favorite pajamas, but don’t fall asleep in class!
-Thursday – Green and White Day to support our team, cheerleaders, band, auxiliary marching unit and fans!

SCOUTING: If you are a 6th grade student interested in joint Boy Scouts, please see Mr. Torres during your lunch period today. He will be at 6th grade lunch to give out information about the Boy Scouts and answer any questions you may have about joining the Boy Scouts.
