DROP OFF TABLE: Student Services has a drop off table. If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up. Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass. If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.
BOXTOPS: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Swavely or Mrs. Braido and Student Leadership will take care of the rest.
DISMISSAL: Students please note that you are not permitted to remain in the building after dismissal unless you are involved in an activity. If you are waiting for a friend, please wait outside of the building.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you. Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.
STEP TEAM: Step team will practice on every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:05-4:15pm. Remember boots or sneakers and your permission form.
INSTRUMENTAL LESSONS: All instrumentals lessons will be canceled for today.

LHS BENEFIT CONCERT FOR BAND & CHORUS: Thanks to all of the students, parents, and NE staff who made the LHS Benefit Concert such a success this past Saturday It was incredible to see the talent that is in our school district. Thank you, Jazz Ensemble and NE Singers for the preparation, dedication, and flexibility throughout these past weeks. Special thanks to Sam Graybeal, Christina Stolnik, and Jaden Rivera…your performances were absolutely awesome! All of the people who were a part of the event make us all Northeast PROUD!

NEMS THEATRE COMPANY: Cast of Music Man Jr…mark your calendars…we will have our first Saturday rehearsal on November 19th. We will approach the rehearsal time differently, so, please mark your planners accordingly:

MATH NERDS: Math Nerds is moving back to Fridays. If you want to join math nerds please come this Friday at 3:05pm in room A305. We will no longer meet on Wednesdays because of all of the scheduling conflicts with other clubs and events. Having Math Nerds on a Friday has been a Northeast tradition and it’s back by popular demand. You do not have to like math to join, you just need to be willing to try something new. We guarantee you will be hooked after your first meeting. Permission slips will be given out on Friday. So be a nerd and join us in room A305 on Fridays.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Attention 7th and 8th grade GIRLS interested in trying out for the Girls Basketball Team, there will be Open Gym opportunities on November 10th from 3:15-4:15pm (Auxiliary Gym) and November 11th from 3:15-4:15 (Main Gym) This is your chance to dust off the cobwebs and prep your skills for tryouts!! REMINDER: make sure you have physicals and forms COMPLETELY filled out and returned to Ms Schaffrick… YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO TRYOUT if you do NOT turn in the forms! STUDENT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL: Box-Tops are still being collected and Student Leadership will be having a raffle starting today through Christmas. To be able to enter the drawing, you need to bring in a complete sheet or bag of 50 Box-Tops. Don’t forget to put your name on the bag or sheet. Remember, the Box-Tops shouldn’t be stapled or taped on the back of the sheet. Also, hand in bonus Box-Tops in a separate bag. Thank you from Student Leadership.
BOOK FAIR: The Book Fair is back. You will be able to check it out and make purchases starting Monday November 14th through student led conferences until Tuesday November 22nd in Mrs. Roehrenbeck’s room A300. Stay tuned for a closer look at the titles and more information about our upcoming book fair!
ELECTION: Good morning Northeast, The results are in! After your contribution as a voter, we have calculated the percentages of each candidate and the winner of our school wide election is Secretary Hillary Clinton with 66.6% of your vote. The runner up was Mr. Donald J. Trump with 20.9% of the school population voting for him. Governor Gary Johnson had 9% and Dr. Jill Stein had 3.3% Thank you all very much for voting and make sure to tune in tomorrow to find out who the leader of our country will be for the next 4 to 8 years.
THANKSGIVING COLLECTION: Each year Student Leadership, the counselors, and the office staff work together to gather food items to supply families here with a complete holiday dinner. Our collection will run Monday until November 18th. Every homeroom that has a completed basket will be entered into a drawing for a prize. Remember, all completed baskets go directly back to our students and families here at Northeast. Please encourage your homeroom to contribute, and feel free to reward them with hornet 5’s! Any extra canned goods collected will be donated to the local food bank. I’ll be dropping off collection boxes to each homeroom this week. THANK YOU See Swavely, Braido or Nehilla with questions.
RALLY 4 PEACE: Many of our Northeast students created pavers for the International Day of Peace. We haven’t forgotten to select some saying to have engraved on real pavers. Our Rally 4 Peace participants are busy creating their presentations and will be part of the selection committee once their work is completed. Our plan is to announce the selected slogans in January, during the Week of Peace. We apologize for not clarifying this earlier.
PICTURE RETAKE: Picture retakes are scheduled for the morning of Friday, November 11, 2016. Retakes will be for students and staff members that were absent on picture day or for those that are not happy with their picture package. If you are retaking your picture to replace your original picture package, please make sure to bring with you on Friday, Nov 11th the original picture package you would like replaced. Should you have any questions or need an order form, please see Ms. Osorio in Student Services.
ARCHERY: Attention all archers! Please have your $3 to Mrs. Papagni by Wednesday the 9th for our pizza party. Our party for all three teams will be on Thursday the 10th right after school in Mrs. Shive’s room A305. Mrs. Papagni and Mrs. Shook would also like to with our 6th grade beginner team on their first tournament today after school. Just remember to shoot straight 6th grade! We’d also like to congratulate the winners of the advanced team- First place went to Vanessa Tindugan, second place went to Joey Rachwal and third place went to Kathy Testa. Thanks for the intense competition- you guys are fierce!.
