ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE CLUB: Could you survive a zombie apocalypse?  There is only one way to find out – join the survive the zombie apocalypse club. We will be holding a general interest meeting on Wednesday 11/30 in room A305.  Permission slips and information will be given out at the meeting.  The club will be held on Tuesdays starting December 6th from 3:05-4:25pm.  Those who arrive survive. See Mrs. Papagni or Mr. Speaker if you have any questions.

NEPTO FUNDRAISER: KFC/LONG JOHN SILVER’S: Tired? In a hurry? Stop by for a delicious meal and benefit Northeast! Where: KFC/Long John Silver’s, 2571 Easton Ave, Bethlehem, 18017 When: 5-8PM, Tuesday, Nov. 15. Includes drive-thru, carry out, eat in. Northeast Middle School will receive 15% of ALL SALES from 5-8 PM so tell all your family and friends! There will be a 50/50 & a Gift Card Raffle. Tickets $1 each or $5 for 6 tickets. BOOK FAIR: The Book Fair is back. You will be able to check it out now through student led conferences until Tuesday November 22nd in Mrs. Roehrenbeck’s room A300. Stay tuned for a closer look at the titles and more information about our upcoming book fair!

DEBATE CLUB: Attention all debaters, the next Debate Club meeting will be tomorrow after school in Room A105. This will be the last meeting until after Thanksgiving. Any questions please Mr. Gross or Mrs Schenk.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL: Box-Tops are still being collected and Student Leadership will be having a raffle through Christmas. To be able to enter the drawing, you need to bring in a complete sheet or bag of 50 Box-Tops. Don’t forget to put your name on the bag or sheet. Remember, the Box-Tops shouldn’t be stapled or taped on the back of the sheet. Also, hand in bonus Box-Tops in a separate bag. Thank you from Student Leadership.

RALLY 4 PEACE: Many of our Northeast students created pavers for the International Day of Peace. We haven’t forgotten to select some saying to have engraved on real pavers. Our Rally 4 Peace participants are busy creating their presentations and will be part of the selection committee once their work is completed. Our plan is to announce the selected slogans in January, during the Week of Peace. We apologize for not clarifying this earlier.

KEEPING KIDS WARM: Starting today through November 21th, the Bethlehem Police Dept will be collecting new and gently used Coats.  The donated coats will be distributed to students at Northeast Middle School and the Bethlehem Area School District.  People who wish to donate coats can bring them to Student Services. Distribution of the coats will take place on Nov 21st and 22nd during parent/teacher conference. Anybody who is in need of a coat please contact your guidance counselor.

THANKSGIVING COLLECTION: Each year Student Leadership, the counselors, and the office staff work together to gather food items to supply families here with a complete holiday dinner.  Our collection will run Monday until November 18th.  Every homeroom that has a completed basket will be entered into a drawing for a prize.  Remember, all completed baskets go directly back to our students and families here at Northeast. Please encourage your homeroom to contribute, and feel free to reward them with hornet 5’s! Any extra canned goods collected will be donated to the local food bank. I’ll be dropping off collection boxes to each homeroom this week. THANK YOU See Swavely, Braido or Nehilla with questions.

ARCHERY: Attention all archers.  If you weren’t at the pizza party and did not receive your half pound please come by Mrs. Papagni’s room to pick it up.  Also a really nice black jacket was leftat the pizza party.  Please pick up the jacket in Mrs. Shive’s room.

AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: Rehearsals:

*Tuesday, November 15th – no rehearsal – meeting

*Wednesday, November 16th – NE Singers – all from 3:10-4pm

*Thursday, November 17th – NE Singers – all from 3:10-4pm

*Friday, November 18th – NE Singers, 8th grade only, to perform at Donegan Elementary School

*Monday, November 21st – no rehearsal – half day

*Tuesday, November 22nd – no rehearsal – half day

NEMS THEATRE COMPANY: Cast of Music Man Jr…mark your calendars…we will have our first Saturday rehearsal on November 19th.  We will approach the rehearsal time differently, so, please mark your planners accordingly:

From 9-10 AM we will work with people in Scene 1 (pages 1-9 of the script) and Scene 4 (pages 27-37 of the script)

From 10 AM until noon ALL CAST MEMBERS will rehearse.  Bring your scripts and a pencil.  Please be prepared to dance…wear sneakers and clothing you can move in.  Donuts anyone?  Please be prompt to rehearsal.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Parker.  Thank you…
