Sunday Shout-Out – Week of December 18, 2016: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for the last school week for 2016. This past Thursday we published our mid quarter progress reports for the second quarter in our District’s Home Access Center. Please take time to follow up with your child about the progress they are making in school and if they need any help with their academic classes. We host many opportunities for children to help them be successful in the classroom and too often parents are unaware of how their children are doing until it is too late. Please take the opportunity to follow up with your child about how they are performing before it is too late. Should you have questions or need assistance in accessing these resources please reach out to your child’s team leader, guidance counselor or contact Mrs. Rincon in our school’s main office. If you do not have computer access and wish to have a paper copy of your child’s academic process please call Mrs. Rincon. As we stated last week we will not hesitate to send one home with your child. You just need to let us know that you do not have internet access.
These last four days before our winter break are extremely busy with most of our teams scheduling holiday rewards and field trips. Team Investigators will be splitting their team up between Monday and Tuesday and visiting our Bethlehem Area Vo-tech to explore careers and opportunities the vocational technical school has to offer. On Thursday this team will be rewarding their students with a trip to Skateaway. Also taking a rewards trip on Tuesday is our 6th grade Team Power who is taking their students to the Town and Country Lanes to celebrate the holiday and knock down some pins. Truly no one brings about the holiday cheer better than our Northeast Singers and Jazz and Wind Ensembles when they go out into the community to play. On Tuesday these talented students will delight shoppers at Barnes and Noble off route 33 from 6PM through 8PM. On Thursday our Northeast Singers and Wind Ensemble go out to various locations in and around our school caroling in the holiday season. What a perfect way to end our school week.
Finally our girls and boys basketball teams have games this week with our girls playing at home Monday versus South Mountain, Thursday versus Whitehall and away on Wednesday at Northampton. The boys schedule is just the opposite playing away at South Mountain on Monday and away at Whitehall on Thursday but playing their seasons’ home opener on Wednesday versus Northampton.
We close with best wishes for everyone as we go into this glorious holiday season. Have a great remainder to your Sunday.
