NEMS THEATRE COMPANY: Rehearsals: Tuesday, January 10th – There is NO Music Man Jr. rehearsal today – please alert your parents at the beginning of today so that you can plan accordingly. Mrs. Parker is not in school today due to illness…a Remind Me notification went out this morning. Sorry for the inconvenience. 

*Wednesday, January 11th – Music Man Jr. rehearsal for students who are in pages 85-92…that’s the Pick-a-Little Ladies, Harold Hill and Marian.  No quartet at this rehearsal).  The rehearsal is from 3:10-5:30

*Saturday, January 14, 2017 No rehearsal – MLK Jr. holiday

AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: Rehearsals: *Thursday, January 12th – NE Singers/Boys Group/Girls Group rehearsal from 3:10-4:00

DANCE TEAMPractice on Wednesday and Thursday this week!  ALSO, don’t forget your t-shirt forms!

CHESS CLUBThe Second Session of Chess Club will be starting up again on January 11th. They will be for FIVE Wednesday’s again. Same time and same place in Mr. Spieker’s room in room A108. If you are interested in joining, and didn’t join in the fall, feel free to grab a permission form outside of room A108 on the 7th Grade Floor. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Spieker.

DEBATE CLUBThose of you who are interested in signing up for debate club our next session begins today, January 10th after school in room A105. You can pick up a sign-up sheet from Mr. Gross or Mrs. Schenk. Any questions please see one of us.

KNITTING CLUBThe 2nd session for Knitting Club starts January 25th from 3:05-4:05pm in room A203 with Miss Ayre.  New students are welcome to join, just stop by Miss Ayre’s room any day after school before January 13th to pick up a permission form.  All session 1 knitters are welcome to join again.  Looking forward to having new and returning knitters.

PEACE WEEK: Attention! Attention! Peace Week is coming January 17th-20th! There will be school wide activities, morning announcement performances and a week of themed dress up days!

*Tuesday the 17th- Pajama Day! Warm up to a new friend, get to know someone different today!  Say hey, what’s up, hello to someone new!

*Wednesday the 18th-Block out the hate! Wear your sunglasses to school and be positive.  Too cool to care what others think!  Sign the bully free pledge during lunch!

*Thursday the 19th-Sock it to rejection!   Wear your most outrageous or colorful socks.  Show you accept everyone’s differences and beliefs.

*Friday the 20th-Respect for one another!  Wear your team t-shirt or team color to represent working together for peace!  We can always count on each other.

DENTAL EXAMS:On Friday January 13, 2017 the majority of the seventh grade school dental exams will be done in the nurse’s office.  Those students involved will have individual hall passes.  Students:  If you have any dental exam form, please deliver it to the nurse’s office now so we can update the schedule.  Approximately 160 exams are scheduled to be done so the exams are expected to last until noontime.  The nurse’s office will be closed except to those students having dental exams and those requiring medications.  Teachers:  Please allow the students to come to the nurse’s office at the time on their pass.  If there is an emergency, please call Student Services 42903.  You will be notified when the remaining dental exams are scheduled.

READING OLYMPICSMandatory meeting today during Activity period in Mrs. Rohrenbeck’s room, A300.  We need to get the final count of participants for our upcoming competition.  See you at 2:30pm, in A300!

SPORTSCoach Schaffrick and Coach Amann would like to send a huge Congratulations to the Girls Varsity and JV Basketball Teams!

Girls Varsity basketball played a strong game yesterday against Raub. Winning 24-15.  8th Grader Yada MacTaggart led the team with 11 points!  Adding to the score was 7th graders Stephanie Donato (7 points), Erin Eisenhart (6 points)!! 

Girls JV basketball played an AMAZING game against Raub. Winning 24-10!!!! 7th grader Alexis Sostre made 12 points for our team! Adding to the score was 8th graders Anahi Ramos (6 points) and Trinity Lacayo (6 points)! It was a very exciting game; with 3 pointers and  awesome rebounds…. sooooo exciting!!

Everyone working together and executing what you have been taught was vital to our win!!!

AWESOME JOB LADIES!!! We are very proud of you!!!

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE CLUBWe will be meeting today in room A305.  Today is a supply run, so please bring your sneakers.  Remember those who arrive survive.

ROBOTICS CLUBWe will be meeting twice this week.  We will be meeting on Wednesday for an extra day and meet on our regularly scheduled Thursday as well.  Thursday will be our last day so it’s party time.  Please bring a snack or drink to share.  

MATH NERDSAlas all good things must come to an end and that includes math nerds.  We will be having our end of club party on Friday the 13th.  Please bring a snack or drink to share with your fellow nerds.  Whoever said Friday the 13th was unlucky clearly wasn’t a math nerd member!
