*Wednesday, February 8th – no rehearsal – meeting
*Thursday, February 9th – all cast singing rehearsal from 3:10-5pm. Please note in your schedule that we will NOT rehearse on Monday, February 13th due to the basketball game – thank you for your flexibility. Please mark your calendar.
*Saturday, February 11th – Music Man rehearsal for all cast members from 9:00 until noon.
*Girls Group, Boys Group, and NE Singers: Mrs. Parker needs your permission slips for the All City Middle School Chorus Festival as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Parker. Thanks.
*Stage crew will continue today, Wednesday February 8th, from 3 to 430, Thursday3 to 430, Friday, 3 to 430, and Saturday from 9am to 11am.
RALLY FOR PEACE: Just a reminder to those of you invited to our Rally For Peace pizza party, it will be held Thursday the 9th at 3:05PM in Miss Doncsecz’s room A206. If we have a snow day it will be rescheduled.
LOLLIPOP SALE: Student Leadership will begin selling lollipops during all 3 lunches starting today. They are $1 each. Purchase a chocolate rose or a sweet lip pop for your sweetheart today!
ART CLUB: Art club will begin again and there will be a very brief meeting today after school to sign up and get information. Please meet in Mrs. Korhammer’s room after school.
WINTER SEMI-FORMAL: Winter Semi-Formal at Liberty is February 17th. Tickets are being sold for $8. If you’re interested in purchasing a ticket see Officer Elias.
CHESS CLUB: Attention all Chess Club Members, this Wednesday, February 15, 2017 is the last day of Chess Club. If you have not paid Mr. Spieker $2, then you most likely will not participate in the Pizza Party. Please see Mr. Spieker today.
NEPTO FUNDRAISER – FIVE GUYS: Five Guys Burgers and Fries are fantastic! And they have other food for purchase to benefit Northeast Middle School! Tell your family and friends to Five Guys burgers and fries from 3 – 10pm Tuesday, February 21, and NEPTO receives 20% of all sales! WORLD LANGUAGE CLUB: The next meetings for world language club will be February 9th and February 23 after school in Miss Danner’s room from 3:05-4:25pm!
DISMISSAL: All students are to leave the school building upon dismissal at 3:05PM unless you are signed up and participating in an after school activity. Students MAY NOT wait in school or on school property for friends or siblings that are attending an activity. All students who participate in after school activities must also leave the building as soon as their activity is over. Students are not allowed to be in the building unsupervised!
SPORTS: All students attending the Northeast basketball games must remain in the gym during the games. Students may visit the concession stand or the restroom if needed at halftime or between game periods but may not continue to wander in and out of the gym. Students are also reminded that all school rules apply during the games and proper behavior is required. Students should come to the games to cheer on their teams and enjoy the competition.
*Any 7th or 8th grade girl interested in trying out for softball team, there will be a brief but important meeting today at 3:05pm in room A104. If you cannot make the meeting, please see Coach Jewell, Coach Korcienski or Coach Shive.
*Attention all Northeast Soccer Players. If you are interested in trying out for the soccer team, boys and girls, please Meet Mr. Spieker in the Cafeteria Thursday, February 9 after school. This meeting will only last 15 minutes, you will need to sign-in.
*Congratulations to the Girls Varsity and JV Teams!! Our Girls Varsity basketball team beat East Hills winning 29-15!!!!!8th graders Gabby MacTaggart and Ana-E Ramos both put 8 points on the board. 7th grader Erin Eisenhart added to the score with 7 points and 8th graders Kira Ryberg (4 points) and Aaliyah Vazquez (2 points)!!!!
Girls JV had an amazing season filled with heart and determination!!!! I am truly blessed to have had you on my team this year and we will miss our 8th graders next year as they move up to the 9th grade! Do great things, follow your heart and never stop dreaming big AND always… make us Northeast PROUD!!!
JV is thrilled to end our season with a BIG “W”!!! Beating East Hills 26-18!!!! Everyone played a GREAT game! 7th grader Alexis Sostre and 8th grader Michely Colon both put 8 points on the board!! 8th grader Lizvette Padilla added 4 points to the score helping to secure a lead!! Then 8th grader Trinity Lacayo and 7th grader Hannah Bosco put 3 points each on the board to secure the WIN!!!! Also a shout out to our injured girls that came and cheered their teammates on!!!! It’s not easy to sit on the sidelines when you’re born to play!!! AWESOME JOB LADIES!!! I hope to see everyone MONDAY at Liberty to support our Boys AND Girls Varsity Teams as they face Nitschman for their final games of the season!!!!
HORNET FUNDRAISER: The Northeast Musical Hornets fundraiser kick off #3 is on! This is the LAST round of fundraisers for the current year. Any credits from these sales will be credited to this year’s Music in the Parks trip to Connecticut. Instrumental groups and NE Singers…please be sure to pick up this fundraising information in either the band or chorus rooms. If you have any questions, please see either Mr. Rupnik or Mrs. Parker. BOXTOPS: Box Tops! Box Tops! Box Tops! Student Leadership received our check for over $700 from Box Tops. Let’s try for $500 more by March 1. Box Tops sheets will be sent home with report cards. Please fill in a sheet and bring it in. Notice the Box Tops are trimmed and attached. Do not use staples. We will have another raffle in March. The prize will be afternoon admission to the Proud-A-Thon! Thank you so much, Box Tops Committee!
