Week of October 8, 2017: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for this week where we celebrate American Education in Bethlehem. Our theme for this year’s American Education Week continues to be “Come Join Us”. We sent home flyers with our school’s visitation schedule earlier this past week. A copy of the schedule can be found on our Northeast website. Also we advise that you check with your child in case there are any tests or special programs or trips scheduled for when you plan to visit. We ask that you do not plan to visit over our lunch periods, because we are not able to fit parents and students together in our cafeteria. Also just a reminder that all Bethlehem Area School District schools and offices are closed tomorrow, October 9th, in observance of Columbus Day. All teachers and office staff will be involved in professional development during this day.
Last Friday an electronic copy of the Mid Quarter Progress report was uploaded into the Home Access Center for all parents. Please note there will not be a “paper” copy of the mid quarter reports sent home unless you as a parent request such through your child’s Guidance Counselor. Should you have problems accessing your child’s grades through our Home Access Center please call the main office at 610-868-8581 and ask for Mrs. Rincon. As we have stated on numerous occasions, please access your child’s grades and progress daily in the Home Access Parent Portal in order to keep updated and informed of your child’s progress. Once again we remind you that should you have any concerns about your child’s progress and grades, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s Guidance Counselor or Team Leader.
This week we are in the middle of “Fall” sports with our student athletes. Our Field Hockey team plays at Harrison Morton on Tuesday, while our Cross Country team has a meet Thursday at Freedom. Volleyball plays twice this week. They are away against Eyer on Wednesday and home against Whitehall on Friday. Our Football team plays a tough Parkland squad at our BASD stadium on Saturday. That game begins at 11:30 a.m.
At the end of the week we have our “Fall Harvest” Dance Friday evening. Our dance is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and all students enter our school by the cafeteria. Students love to wear their Halloween Dress for this dance but please note that no students will be permitted to wear masks over their face or dress in costumes of a violent or overly gruesome nature. If you have questions of appropriateness of your child’s dress, please do not hesitate to call and ask our office staff. Also note that students are not permitted to leave early from the dance without parent notification. This is for their safety.
Have a great remainder to your weekend!
