PICTURE DAY: Picture day is scheduled for Thursday, September 27, 2018. Please make sure to have your parents complete your picture order forms and return it to your homeroom teacher by picture day. Extra order forms are available in the Main Office and in Student Services. Picture retakes are scheduled for November 5, 2018.
WORLD LANGUAGE CLUB: Are you interested in learning about a new language and culture? Join World Language Club! The sign-up sheet and permission slips are outside Señorita Danner’s room B201. Space is limited to 25- the first 25 to hand in a completed permission slip will be able to join World Language Club!
CREATIVE WRITING CLUB: Northeast’s brand-new creative writing club will be starting Wednesday October 3rd from 3:10-4:10pm! If you’re interested please see Miss Rinaldi in A112 to get a permission slip.
EXPRESS YOURSELF to RALLY FOR PEACE: Are you creative? Can you sing, dance, rap, write poetry, create videos, paint or draw? Do you want to express yourself and make this world a better place? Do you need a way to express yourself about what is going on in the world?
If so, come to our Express Yourself to Rally for Peace interest meeting on Tuesday, September 25th at 3:10 in room A208. We need artists of all kinds. You will be working on original pieces to be performed at our annual Rally for Peace. Come join us!!!
NEPTO FUNDRAISER: The NEPTO Save Around Coupon book fundraiser has come to an end. You must pay the $25 for the book or return the book to your homeroom teacher today.
BREAKFAST: We are excited to announce that Northeast Middle School will now have breakfast extended after the bell beginning on Monday, September 24th. Students will be able to choose a breakfast until 8:15 am. Students will be permitted to stay in the cafeteria until 8:25 am. Students with free lunch also may receive a free breakfast. Reduced student breakfast is $.30. Paid student breakfast is $1.85.
To help celebrate please join us in the cafeteria as we take the all-american favorite banana split and make it a breakfast special. For the week of September 24th-28th, you can build your own Lickity Split! Choose one or both varieties of yogurt and create your own masterpiece from a selection of toppings!
ESTE ROCKET CLUB: 6th &7th grade students who are interested in the after-school Este Rocket Club, may pick-up a permission slip in Room A-203 Mr. Flok.

STEP TEAM: Try outs for Step team will be Monday September 24th from 3:03-5:30 pm. If you are interested in joining the team, come try out. Try outs will be in the Auditorium. Practices for Step team will be on Monday’s and Wednesdays from 3:05-4:30, every week through the middle of February ending with a performance at Stomp Show.
DEBATE CLUB: Debate Club is open to students in all grades. We meet Tuesdays from 3:05-4:25pm in Room A201, Ms. Anderson’s Room. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 25th. Contact Ms. Anderson if you have any questions.
WORLD PERCUSSION: 8th Graders, Mr. Huie will be starting World Percussion Ensemble Drum Auditions on Thursday, September 13. He’ll be stopping by each homeroom with a pass. They’ll take a few days, so stay tuned for when he stops by. IF anyone else is in 8th grade and interested in drumming, see Mr. Huie ASAP.
DANCE TEAM: ALL STUDENTS, Mr. Huie is starting Dance Team Auditions in a few weeks! The Northeast Dance Team is a hiphop dance team that students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade can try out for! We compete and perform in different places and it is super fun. Come to try-outs Sept. 26th, Wednesday!
CHESS AND BOARD GAME PLAYERS: Students 6th Grade through 8th Grade are welcome to engage in chess playing to competitive mini tournaments with specialty chess boards and small life-size pieces as well as fun filled and challenging Board games that run from RISK to Monopoly! Learn rules and new games that builds on math concepts and sportsmanships. Chess Club Starts on Wednesdays October 3rd and Strategic Game Board Club starts in November 7th on WEDNESDAYS! If you have any questions see Mr. Spieker room A108 and/or Miss Vanderstel room A101 on the 7th Grade Floor! Please stop by to pick up forms and permission slips! FORMS are outside Mr. Spieker’s room and FORMS are inside Miss Vanderstel’s room. Any questions please see them.
SUPERHERO RESEARCH CLUB: Attention all those Superheros and Villains out there! Superhero Research Club is back this year with high demand! Superhero research is only open to 7th and 8th graders. Again, open only to 7th and 8th graders. The Club will be held on every Thursday for one hour after school. The first day will begin on Thursday September 20th! All permission forms are outside room A108. There are only 20 limited spots. First come first serve in Superhero Research Club. Please have your permission slip completed and brought back to Mr. Spieker in room A108 before Wednesday September 27th. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Spieker in room A108 OR Miss Rinaldi in room A112.
DROP OFF TABLE: Student Services has a drop off table. If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up. Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass. If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.
BOXTOPS: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Derrington or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.
SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.
