NORTHEAST GOT TALENT: It’s time to start refining your talents for Northeast’s Got Talent Competition. All creative talents are welcome to try-out. From dance, song and instruments to story- telling, art, gymnastics and Rubik’s cube champions – WE WANT YOUR TALENT. Northeast’s Got Talent is a way for you to showcase your gifts and help raise funds for Northeast students and your related arts classes. There will be more information to come in the next few weeks.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST FOR NE THEATRE: Come out and support the NEMSTC Pancake Breakfast, held on Saturday, November 16th from 9-11 AM! Enjoy some pancakes, sausages, and assorted beverages. Tickets are $6…you can pre-purchase tickets from Mrs. Parker or a member of NEMSTC, or buy them at the door on the 16th! Hope to see you at Tocci’s!

SUPPORT NE THEATRE: On Wednesday, November 27th, Martellucci’s will be hosting a fundraiser for NEMSTC. A portion of the dine-in or carry out sales will go to Northeast’s musical! Please come out and enjoy some delicious food at Martellucci’s! Remember, it’s Wednesday, November 27th…all day! See you there!

THANK YOU: Thank you so much for donating to the cops n kids book drive! We are very appreciative of the books you sent in. NE is donating about 1,000 books!! Mrs. Anderson’s class donated the most books, so their homeroom will be getting a pizza party! Again, thanks for donating and we hope you have a great day!

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE: Happy November, students! The annual Thanksgiving Food Drive will start on Monday, November 4. Each homeroom is collecting Thanksgiving items for families in need in our community. There is a box in your homeroom and a list of items to donate. The homeroom in each grade level that donates the most items will win an ice cream party.

ACTIVITIES 

  • ARCHERY: Our fall archery season has come to an end. The archers on both teams performed remarkably well during their tournaments. On the beginner team, James Hammershock took home a first place trophy with a score of 214, Lailah Godley took second with a 199, and third place went to Gabriella Robinson with a score of 197. Congratulations to all of our beginner archers who will move on to the advanced team this coming spring. On the Advanced team Makaylah Tarboro took home a first place trophy, Deon Davis took second, and Porter Pijut placed third. Congratulations to all archers who shot a personal best.
  • BOY SCOUTS: Boy Scouts will begin after school on Tuesday, November 12 in the cafeteria. Any boys interested in joining can pick up a form in Student Services.
  • GIRL SCOUTS: Girl Scouts will begin after school on Thursday, November 21 in the cafeteria. Any girls interested in joining can pick up a registration form in Student Services.
  • KNITTING CLUB: Knitting club will be starting November 12th. Any student interested in learning how to knit and/or continue to improve his/her knitting skills, come see Miss Ayre in room A206 for a permission form.
  • SOFTBALL SKILLS CLUB: Ladies, softball skills club’s last meeting has been moved to Wednesday. Please bring warm clothes because we will be outside.

ARTS

  • AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: Monday, November 11th – NE Singers – all; Tuesday, November 12th – no rehearsal; Wednesday, November 13th – no rehearsal due to Liberty Theatre’s performance of “The Crucible” – this is a change from the previous schedule. Thank you for your flexibility. If you are interested in attending, see Mrs. Parker or Mr. Rupnik for a permission slip.; Thursday, November 14th – no rehearsal after school. NE Singers will leave at 3 PM for their performance at SteelStacks. Please be sure to bring your white tops/black bottoms and books so that homework can be done while waiting to perform. We will not return to Northeast until approximately 8 PM. See Mrs. Parker with any questions ASAP.; Friday, November 15th – all after school vocal groups from 3:10-4:00pm; Sunday, November 17th – Salute the Troops Concert at Northeast. Please report to NE at 1:30pm, wearing white tops/black bottoms. It will be another memorable concert!
  • AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS:Tickets for Salute the Troops Concert are available to our student performers’ families for a price of $5. Please get your order in ASAP. Tickets will be $10 on the day of the concert. Thank you for your support.
  • DANCE TEAM: Practice on Wednesday after school.
  • MUSICAL: Any cast members who have tickets or money for the Tocci’s Pancake Fundraiser this Saturday should see Mrs. Parker. If you did not receive your tickets, please come to the chorus room to pick up tickets. Let’s make this a successful fundraiser for the upcoming production of Once On This Island Jr.!
  • MUSICAL: Upcoming High School Performances: Any cast and crew members and student musicians are invited to attend two upcoming high school performances: On Wednesday, November 13th, we have been invited to see Liberty Theatre’s production of The Crucible. We will leave NE at 3:30 to walk to Liberty. On Wednesday, November 20th, we have been invited to see Freedom High School Theatre Company’s production of It’s a Wonderful Life. NE will take one bus to see the production. Any cast/crew members and student musicians are able to attend. Once child and an adult may attend. NE will also run a bus for those students who may not be able to attend due to needing a ride to and from Freedom. Please see either Mrs. Parker or Mr. Rupnik for a permission slip as soon as possible. Thank you.
  • WORLD PERCUSSION: See you on Thursday after school and Day 1 Activity.

ATHLETICS

  • BOYS BASKETBALL: Attention all 7th and 8th grade boys. There will be a 7th grade only basketball open gym on Tuesday, November 12th. There will be an 8th grade only basketball open gym on Thursday, November 14th. Attention all 7th and 8th grade boys wanting to try out for boys basketball. You must have a physical form or re-certification form filled out in order to be able to try out. See Coach Carlstrom if you have any questions.
  • CROSS COUNTRYCross country runners make sure to turn in your uniform to Ms. Tandy in room A106 and pick up your Proud Pound.
  • GIRLS BASKETBALL: Attention 7&8 grade girls. Open gym this Wednesday after school.

DISMISSAL: Students please note that you are not permitted to remain in the building after dismissal unless you are involved in an activity. If you are waiting for a friend, please wait outside of the building.

SAFE TO TELL: It’s SAFE to Tell.”  The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education.  You can refer your friends or yourself.  Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.  Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.
