ACTIVITIES:

  • CHORUS: Welcome back, chorus members! Thank you for your time and talent given back in December for our winter concert. It’s time to start a new year  with more music! Please visit the PUMAS  website to see what is ahead, including a  song whose lyrics were written by a  former Northeast student! Stop by the  chorus room to pick up your copy of the  song “Stand”. You may also return your  music as well…just bring it to the chorus  room. Gentlemen, we are also gearing up  for Hamilton’s You’ll Be Back…the crowns  are in! Please go to the PUMAS website  for links for upcoming songs and links. If anyone is interested in joining chorus, please reach out to Mrs. Parker either via Schoology or email at dparker@basdschools.org. We are still  working virtually at this point, but we  want to hear your voice and have you join  us! 3. If you are interested in finding out  information about this year’s musical,  please contact Mrs. Parker for a link to a  Zoom meeting to be held during the week  of January 18th. It will look very  different this year due to the pandemic,  but we will create a virtual experience for  our students and families to enjoy at the  end of February. More information to  come! All  Permission Forms are due as soon as possible.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: There’s an old Indian saying: Go to the  root and find the meaning. It’s  interesting that the words kind and kin come from the same root word, which  means “inborne….native.” Our kin… our  family, kindred souls and friends… we all  carry a common genetic code – kindness. So here’s my bulletin. It comes from  Aesop’s Fables. No act of kindness, no  matter how small, is ever wasted. The  Swedes say it another way: Kindness  begets kindness. Be especially kind to  someone today.

LUNCH: Do you bring your lunch from home? If you do, you can add a fruit, veggie and milk for free!!!  That’s right! You can jazz up your lunch in the cafeteria with a fruit, veggie and milk for free if you bring your lunch from home. Bon  appetit!!

SAFE: It’s SAFE to Tell. The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. It’s now safer and easier to tell: just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find ONLINE in your guidance counselor’s resources folder. Don’t  worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.” Thanks for being AWESOME!
