LIBERTY MAJORETTES: Majorette tryouts for Liberty High School will be held on Wednesday, May 19th at 3:30pm at Liberty! If you are interested in auditioning, please see Mr. Rupnik in the band room for more information.
SOCCER: Congratulations to the Northeast Soccer Team for pulling out an away win at Broughal Middle School this week. The Rockets were the first team to draw blood and scored a fluke goal. Down one goal the Hornets fought back and were able to tie the game with a goal by Jean Jeronimo. The game was tied at half time, and the cold wind was taking its toll on all the players on the field. In the second half, the Hornets were able to score a few goals. Jean Jeronimo scored another goal, Donovan Morales scored two more, with Assists from Finn Houle and Aneglique Carvalho. Our goalies Finn Houle and Casey Huie split the game and both only allowed 1 goal each, they were crucial in keeping Northeast in the game. Jaylynn Holderman played one of her best games yet of the year, her defense kept the Rockets at bay! Great job Hornets! Come support the Soccer team at Nitschmann Middle School on our last game of the year May 5th!”
SUMMER CAMP: Sign up for Summer Camp! That’s right, Northeast wants you to get OFF your devices and come to the Hornet Explorers Summer Camp! TALENT SHOW: Mr Huie is starting to think about the talent show! It’s an end-of-the-year tradition. This year it will be virtual, though. Think about an act that you can do! Playing in a band, rapping, dancing, martial arts, Rubik’s cube, etc. – show off your talent! Any questions, see Mr. Huie!

- HOMEWORK CLUB: 8th grade homework club will be meeting in room B305 from 3:05 to 4:05pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Catch up on missing assignments and get help with your work. If you have any quests please see Mrs. Papagni in room B305. 7th graders, Miss Rinaldi will not be running homework club this week. 6th grade homework club meets Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school from 3:05- 4:15pm with Miss Capuano in room A202.
ATHLETICS
- VOLLEYBALL: 6th & 7th Grade boys and girls! If you are interested in Volleyball, join Coach Dougherty and Coach Schaffrick after school April 22nd for a quick meeting. We will be running a co-ed Volleyball Club after school starting in May. Come to the meeting for more information on April 22nd at 3:05pm in the Main Gym.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Have you ever heard this American proverb: Where there is no vision, the people will perish. That’s an interesting thing to think about. What’s your vision for tomorrow? What dreams are you dreaming? Goethe (GER-tuh), Germany’s most famous writer and one of the world’s greatest literary geniuses, said: Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Anybody out there without vision? Perish that thought!
LUNCH: Do you bring your lunch from home? If you do, you can add a fruit, veggie and milk for free!!! That’s right! You can jazz up your lunch in the cafeteria with a fruit, veggie and milk for free if you bring your lunch from home. Bon appetit!!
SAFE: It’s SAFE to Tell. The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. It’s now safer and easier to tell: just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find ONLINE in your guidance counselor’s resources folder. Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.” Thanks for being AWESOME!
DISMISSAL: Students please note that you are not permitted to remain in the building after dismissal unless you are involved in an activity. If you are waiting for a friend please wait outside the building.
WATER FOUNTAINS: Water fountains are only to be used to fill up water bottles and not to be used for getting drinks. Students are allowed to bring a water bottle with them every day and are encouraged to do so!
