BREAKFAST: Early morning breakfast is open to all students. The cafeteria will open at 7:40am. Mr. Anderko and Mr. Katynski will greet you at the patio doorway.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP: Are you a leader? Do you like helping your school and community? Do you like sharing ideas and speaking up in front of your peers? Then student leadership is the place for you. Student leadership will be held every Day 5 during hornet block. We are looking for ONE representative from each homeroom. Homeroom teachers, please email Mrs. Derrington the name of the student participating. Listen to the announcements for the date and location of our first meeting!
ACTIVITIES
- AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: If you love to sing and would like to audition for Boys Group, Girls Group, and NE Singers, please stop by and see Mrs. Parker for an audition. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Parker ASAP. The dates for auditions will be Tuesday, September 14th through Friday, September 17th, from 3:15 until 4:30. All students who audition must be a member of the chorus. These groups meet after school for rehearsals. Need details? Talk with Mrs. Parker in the chorus room!
- ARCHERY: Attention Archers! Archery club will be starting soon! There will be a general interest meeting on Tuesday, 9/14 after school in Mr. Detwiler’s room – A309. Returning archers from past years can save their spot. All new archers will be on a lottery basis.
- BAND & ORCHESTRA: This is an announcement from Mr. Rupnik, our band and orchestra director and instrumental music teacher here at Northeast. Did you used to play a musical instrument but had to stop due to Covid? Would like to start back up? Maybe you never played an instrument, but would like to start. Have you transferred from another school, and you already play an instrument? If this sounds like you, don’t wait another minute! Please either ask your homeroom teacher to email me your name, or email me yourself at brupnik@basdschools.org. I would really like to meet you and get you to be a part of the band and orchestra program here at Northeast! Being a part of the band and orchestra gives you so many opportunities, and allows you to make new friends. I hope to hear from you!!
- CHORUS: NE Students: are you interested in being a member of this year’s chorus? If so, please email Mrs. Parker at dparker@basdschools.org or tell your HR teacher to send your name to Mrs. Parker. The chorus meets during day 1 and day 4 during Hornet Block. The only after school commitment is the winter and spring concerts.
- DEBATE CLUB: Debate Club is back! This is your opportunity to express your opinions and point-of-view on real-world and real-life issues. After school in Room 213, we will meet on Tuesday to research the day’s topic and then debate our findings! See Ms. Anderson in A213 for a permission slip. First meeting is on September 21st.
- FANTASY FOOTBALL CLUB: Do you love Football AND want to learn more about playing fantasy football? The Northeast Fantasy Football Club will have their draft on Wednesday. If you are interested in participating, contact Mr. Wenner in room A310 for a permission slip. Compete for the Northeast Crown!
- YANA CLUB: YANA is a new club this year just for 6th graders. YANA stands for You Are Not Alone. The transition to middle school can be difficult. A213 is the place to be after school on Thursdays. Gather with others to discuss concerns, do crafts, and play games is what YANA will do. See Ms. Anderson in A213 for a permission slip. YANA club’s first meeting is on Thursday, September 23rd.
