The Project Lead the Way Pathway Engineering Program is a sequence of courses that follows a proven hands-on, real-world problem-solving approach to learning. Throughout the program, high school students step into the varied roles engineers play in our society, discover new career paths and possibilities, and develop engineering knowledge and skills. As students work in teams to design and test solutions, they are empowered, and develop in-demand, transportable skills like collaboration, critical thinking, and communication.
During the first year of implementation, schools are required to offer at least one of the foundation courses and ultimately implement both foundation courses and one or more of the five specialized courses and/or capstone course.
Principles of Engineering courses complement traditional mathematics and science courses and can serve as the foundation for STEM-centered or specialized academics. The program is designed to prepare students to pursue a post-secondary education and careers in STEM-related fields.
Courses Offered:
- Introduction to Engineering Design
- Principles of Engineering
- Environmental Sustainability
- Civil Engineering and Architecture
- Engineering Design and Development
