There’s a good reason why they call it a save in soccer. When the goalkeeper doesn’t make enough of them, their team’s likely to lose in what is typically a low-scoring sport.
At the high school level in the Lehigh Valley and northwestern New Jersey, there’s no shortage of boys soccer goalkeepers who have helped keep the scores low throughout the season.
