Freedom and Northampton’s top scorers scuffled Saturday night while trying to help their programs end district-title droughts that stretched back 40-plus years.
A senior reserve stole the spotlight.
Frank Falco drilled three 3-pointers and scored all 11 of his points in the second half, sparking fourth-seeded Freedom to a 58-48 win in the District 11 Class 6A boys basketball final at Easton Area Middle School. The victory gave the Patriots (18-8 overall) their first district championship since 1976 and only the second in program history.
