Nick Stannard was looking forward to his final months as a student and his baseball season at Freedom High School.
He was looking forward to being around his friends, many of whom he has known for years, and participating in games, sports awards banquets, signing ceremonies, academic salutes, his prom and all the other trimmings that come with being a senior in the final months of a high school career.
But Stannard is not bitter about losing out on getting the chance to take a victory lap as a high school student-athlete.
